    Beware for eBay Fraud.

The worldwide sales site eBay offers over 10.000 Elvis related items a day, but unfortunatelt not every seller is honest. This is a fine example of pure eBay fraud. The picture shows the alleged meeting of Elvis and Mickey Mantle.

However… in reality, both men never met each other. The actual Elvis picture was taken next to Bill Haley. So, once again: be very careful when you’re dealing with eBay and always double check twice. O, PS: the bid, with two more days to go, is now 610 $US.

Mickey Charles Mantle (October 20, 1931 – August 13, 1995) was an American baseball player who was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1974.

He played his entire 18-year major-league professional career for the New York Yankees, winning 3 American League MVP titles and playing for 16 All-Star teams. Mantle played on 12 pennant winners and 7 World Championship clubs.

He still holds the records for most World Series home runs (18), RBIs (40), runs (42), walks (43), extra-base hits (26), and total bases (123).

yup you have to watch out as some people are only out to con you and make money this is just wrong if they said it was a novelty item and an obvious remake then they would not make enough money so the best thing to do is lie which is wrong but i have never been conned on ebay and all the sellers i have met have been honest its the minority that spoils it for the rest

I am happy buying on the Amazon shop. I don't like having to bid on something you want. On the Ebay you could end up paying more than intended.

I prefer to shop at Amazon.com too. As you said Frank, no bidding and less chance of getting shammed.

On Jun-17-08 at 05:39:45 PDT, seller added the following information:

I KEEP GETTING QUESTIONS AND COMMENTS ABOUT THE PHOTO RATHER THAN THE AUTOGRAPHS. PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT THIS IS A FANTASY PHOTO. MANTLE AND ELVIS DID NOT TAKE THIS PICTURE TOGETHER.
"Whitout a song, the day would never end"

We have a report item link in Australia, I've never used it.

They've got this info on the pic now "I KEEP GETTING QUESTIONS AND COMMENTS ABOUT THE PHOTO RATHER THAN THE AUTOGRAPHS. PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT THIS IS A FANTASY PHOTO. MANTLE AND ELVIS DID NOT TAKE THIS PICTURE TOGETHER."

So i guess someone pulled them up.

They should have had that info right from the start.
I never looked for trouble but I never ran.

    .

I saw this when it first came onto eBay.

The fact is, the seller never said the photo was real. Only that the autographs were.
