awwwww thats lovely to hear Missy.
My son only two but he sure loves elvis music and he will watch tv with me even though elvis is on and not cartoons.
So the other day I am on this board and my grandaughter came in the room and looked over my shoulder (at someone's avatar) and say "Hey Grandma, that's a picture of Elvis right?"
She's 6 years old! Whoo hoo!
Anyone else have any Elvis kids stories???

My daughter was 13 when she first saw the 68 special, she loved
"If I Can Dream" She asked me if I had it in my record collection and borrowed it. For about 2 weeks she listened to it every night before she went to sleep.
But other than that 2 weeks of "If I Can Dream" she has shown little interest in Elvis. At 15 she started listening to the Beatles and then the latest "flavors of the month" Shes now 23 and has a respect for him but is not really into his music.
My 3yo loves Elvis. He recognizes his face, his voice, and his dance moves.
When we watch TTWII, he dances around the livingroom like a fool! And he tells me, "Mommy, I like Elvis. He dances and he sings."
The other day we got Happy Meals at McD's and the toys were little wind-up characters from "Bee Movie". You know, the kind that you wind them up and they toddle around for a few seconds....so Dear Hubby winds my son's toy up really tight and when he let it loose, it was really flopping and carrying on. D says "Look, Mommy! He's dancin' like Elvis!"

I have 3 grandsons we pretty much raised as their parents worked.
They all know Elvis.
The youngest is not quite 2 . I started letting him watch some Elvis videos on YouTube. Now, he thinks he has to watch Elvis whenever he comes over.
He sits ,fascinated watching and listening to his music.
Of course he loves two songs; Jailhouse Rock and Polk Salad Annie.
I used to love Polk Salad Annie.![]()

My son's favorite is "Blue Suede Shoes", though I can't convince him that that's the title. He thinks it's called "Don't You."![]()

My nephew got in the car (7yrs) and was like "Elvis, Elvis, Elvis its always Elvis"
lol!
All my kids appreciate Elvis, the older two were more into Elvis as young children. The youngest(now 14) loves him as much as I do. The other day he came out of the shower and said Look Mom - he had shaped his still wet hair into an Elvis 50's hairdo! He'll always come up to me and say things like "I think I'm in the mood for an Elvis song"
Just pretend, I'm holding you, and whispering things soft and low.
And think of me, how it's gonna be and just pretend I didn't go
My 3 year old nephew LOVES Elvis! He especially loves "Suspicious Minds" and he sings along. It's so cute! The only thing is he thinks it's called "Caught in a trap" Then he seen him on my computer and goes, "It's my friend, Elvis!"
My granddaughter LOVES LOVES LOVES "Polk Salad Annie"
Sometimes her and I rock around the room to it.![]()
She loves when I lip sync and do ELVIS moves to "'Gators got your granny" ...
Boy does she giggle!
I will never forget you Rosanne.

My boy has just reached his teenage years. He is learning a couple of instruments.
He gets to hear Elvis with me, lol, and enjoys his music.
When we went to see "Elvis: The Concert" last October, he enjoyed the gig thoroughly, as well as with another older teenager beside us, who plays drums, they enjoyed watching Ronnie Tutt, do his thing!

It's good when young people learn to appreciate and enjoy Elvis' work. New generations of fans to carry on the throne.
"How do I get placed in situations like this? Ah hell, I guess it's all part of showbusiness "~ Elvis in his limo on his way to perform in Omaha, NE on June 19th 1977
Your stories are adorable, thanks for sharing
I'm a 16 years old fan myself, but that's not as cute as a 3 years old dancing to Elvis
Great stories! It“s important to share Elvis with the coming generations as well. That“s one of the wonders of Elvis - that he has fans from so many different generations!
My kids (16 and 13 now) are of course brought up with Elvis - he“s like a part of the family so to say! The oldest, my son, is now playing Elvis-records himself - he“s mostly into the ones from the 50s. This summer he wanted to start to have his hair like Elvis in the 50s, looking at photos of Elvis how he combed his hair, trying to copy, - and asking his grandpa for advice (who was a teenager in the 50s, copying Elvis“haistyle himself)!![]()
My kids not really feel connected.
My daughter looks up at Priscilla and Lisa and Riley but more for their beauty
It's hard NOT to imagine Elvis as perfect; how else could someone be THAT good looking, THAT talented, THAT generous & THAT charismatic
My daughter is 10 years old, she wouldn't ever pick out an Elvis CD to play on her own but when I'm in the car Elvis is played about 90% of the time and I often hear her singing along to the words
If she is anything like me, my dad always played John Denver in the car (remember 8 track) and as much as I hate to admit it I like John Denver quite a lot even though he is a little cheesy![]()
I always liked John Denver, myself. There was just certain songs and certain moods I would be in that called for a John Denver song.
My little grandsons have Lilo and Stitch too. Of course, they immediately knew who was singing in that movie.
It's a new generation coming up and each will have their own type of music .
But, Elvis songs will always be around, IMO.![]()

I recently gave away 2 Elvis DVD's (I had them already and they were about his career, etc.) and the group I posted them on - I had alot of reply's - the one that stuck the most - was for an 8yr old little girl who was just discovering Elvis and this lady thought this little girl would like the DVD's. Well....I had already promised them to someone else for their Dad's Christmas present - so I told this lady I'd burn some CD's for her and go through my Elvis movies and see if I have any duplicates.......but 8yrs old! that is adorable!
Great stories, Elvis Lives! Latte, yours was so familiar. My grandaughter was saying the same think last year! But I especially want my grandchildren to know the history of Elvis/Graceland in our family.
Keep the stories coming, I'm really enjoying reading them!
A few years ago my sister and I went on a trip back to our home town with our daughters. At that time my niece was 10 and she told her mother she had a plan to share music in the car instead of having to listen to Elvis all the way there and back. Her mother apparently told her "good Luck" and smiled. When we got ready to leave and she presented me with her "plan", I turned around and handed her a CD player and some earphones......we (I) enjoyed Elvis all the way there and back. I had already figured something would be in the works by my niece - we think alike too much. (Mean "auntie" when it comes to Elvis).
My daughter although doesn't buy Elvis CD's, enjoys him almost as much as I do but even she had had more than enough of him by the time the trip was over.
