Good script, direction. Excellent supporting cast. Enjoyable soundtrack.
Motel scene between Elvis and Hope Lange is great.

Found this one of his best movies along with King Creole and Jailhouse Rock

Almost like a non Elvis movie, if you know what I mean.

Very nice story line, some great acting, with Elvis taking benefit of the presence of Hope Lange.

Very few songs in this one, but the ones there seem to fit the story nicely.

    Cool movie.

The Clifford Odet story was a surprize for Elvis to do, and he was pretty convincing. I liked that is was a non Elvis type movie. I loved the line "Hates like a snake biting its own tail" Thats so true.

    Great movie!
It's one of my favourite...I like everything of this film...cast(especially Hope Lange), story and Elvis.
I always prefer him in serious movies like this...it doesn't mean that I don't like the others but here you can see only the ACTOR and his natural talent..

I thought this was one of his absolute best movies, similar to King Creole. You could tell he was really trying to put his heart into!

Oh, I finally saw it this evening. I have to say I love it. It is one of my fave movies I have ever seen. The way he looked and the way he acted.. omg.. he was his best in this movie. absolutely great. I like the movies like this..
And about the story.. i really liked it. And I am glad there weren't too much songs.
And some parts.... he made very well because there were really some similar to his real life. I was close to cry a few times..he did it so well.
    Great!! and I really recommend

    10!

I could watch it again and again...

Re: Wild in the country (1961)

Along, with King Creole, this is Elvis Presley finest movie and acting role ever. Definitively his finest from the 60's, and proof that he did could have a fantastic career as an actor.

To bad it wasn't as profitable as G.I Blues was, and as Blue Hawaii would be, so people like Hall Wallis took advantage of this, and merely exploited Elvis in those formulatic movies.
