One of the Chess Records dynamic duo, along with Chuck Berry he will be sorely missed...who can ever forget that "Bo Diddly" beat featured on so many artists songs...His Latest Flame being one of them, rest in peace Bo....
Bo Diddley, one of the founding fathers of rock and roll, died today in his home in Archer, Florida, where he had lived for 20 years. The cause was heart failure, according to a spokesperson.
Diddley performed live until May 2007, when he suffered a stroke; three months later, in August, he also suffered a heart attack. The spokesperson said that he was surrounded by family and friends when he died. Public and private services are scheduled for this weekend.
In the summer of 2005, Rolling Stone writer Neil Strauss caught up with Diddley for the magazine’s last major feature on him, the award-winning “Indestructible Beat of Bo Diddley.”

I heard this on the radio today. They actually talked about Elvis' respect for him (and how Elvis stole his shaky leg, LOL). Kinda lame that you don't see mention of this on the main page of Google News, but oh well.
Anyway, go to 2:43 in this video to hear Ronnie Tutt's wicked drum solo and Elvis half-singing Hey Bo Diddley from Dallas, TX 12.28.76...and enjoy the rest if you like. Thx to ForTheHeart76 on YT for posting.

...you won't forget me when I go.
That's sad news.
I saw him in Sydney in 1989, at a rock'n'roll revival show, along with Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, Lesley Gore and many others.
RIP.
Getlo - cute'n'cuddly
A sad loss to everyone who knew him, RIP
It's always sad to hear that the world has lost yet another original rock star. RIP Bo Diddley.
Another one of the great ones gone.......Sad news indeed.
