Alanna Nash Working On New Book

In August 2007, journalist and biographer Alanna Nash interviewed a number of Elvis' female co-stars, family members, and friends for a Ladies Home Journal article titled 'The Women Who Loved Elvis'. Now she's turning the idea into a book for Harper Entertainment, to be published in time for Elvis' 75th birthday in January 2010. Nash reports the book will be the first comprehensive look at Elvis purely from the female prospective.

'For all his maleness, Elvis was a very woman-centered man, because of his closeness with his mother', she says. 'It was women he could really talk with, and from whom he drew much of his strength. The book will look at a number of his relationships, both platonic and romantic. And part of it will consider how his status as one of the greatest sex symbols of the 20th century formed his stage act and his interactions with the opposite sex'. Anyone with information or contacts that could help with this project are invited to contact Alanna at alannanash @ hotmail.com.

Interesting. The last time I talked to Ananna, she said she'd never write another Elvis book.

Yes, she did. But, that's the one that had all 3 telling different things about the same occurances .
She did much better on the Col. Maybe because there was only one version; Parkers.

Thanks Cameron,i thought she was the one. I like the story where Elvis cut his toe/foot on a peach pit and had to score some pain killers too funny.

Cameron, donīt take offence but iīm still figuring out wich stories do you always suggest they disagree that really happened, because i have read that book more than once and never found them, or you say that because you donīt like them? wich doesnīt disturb me by the way...

Yes, please give examples. They disagree sometimes opinion wise. And even some accounts of many years ago are seen differently, but where do they actually disagree? I'll give you one because it stick out for me personally. Two say who taught Elvis to play guitar, Billy corrects them because they weren't there. (which he does a few other times showing that the truth is important) So even they had some misconceptions about things they weren't involved with or see for themselves, I don't see a big deal in that. To me that borders on nit-picking. As for Nash, she gets the info and can write it up anyway she chooses. Hey, that's just the way it is.

Actually, that was one of the questions I asked her.Why she didn't try to make sure their stories were "factual" and upheld the same "story", instead of telling things completely different. Her reply was : "i just let them tell their stories." `
That was the big problem I had with it. Guess I'm too used to researching and dealing in "facts" not "stories." Had I known this was her approach to writing this, I wouldn't have been so hard on her . Yes, I DID see and note Billys correction on many things; then and still today. I'm glad he speaks up in all his interviews and tries to set the record straight !
