[QUOTE=howardrobardhughes]I guess that because minni1 supposedly saw a packet of Elvis tickets in Memphis(I've NEVER seen these offered anywhere...I've bought/sold on EBAY since 1998)..that had lines on them...that my original ticket stub is fake??

Excuse me, HowardRobardHughes, or Wade, or whatever your name is, you need to take a step back. I never said anything about seeing a packet of Elvis tickets in Memphis. Please do not misrepresent or misquote me. It would be wise to get your facts straight before you try to present an argument, or whatever it is you are attempting to present.
    Thank you!

My final words on this tread:

Run-of-the-mill common concert tickets are not really a big deal to me. Ultimately, it really isn't worth arguing about "authenticity" issues with such trivial pieces - but that's just me.

    Aren't we all?

Hey, SouthPaw, I noticed the disappearing threads over at the other place. Last night, while this board was on again, off again, I read some things over there which brought back some warm and fuzzy feelings , and I said something to that effect. A minute later, my post was gone. A while after that, the whole thread was gone, along with another which perhaps some people felt too "revealing".

    Talk about fun!

Yes sadly all my 'zingers' to DM disappeared before my eyes.

Why she continues to deny who LTS is amazing since she has been caught several times in her lies.

She had threatened me several time for revealing her identity and obviously went to the admin to remove all the posts.

Oh well, I lost no sleep over her and her 'friends'. Though interestingly enough her name has come up a lot lately with former friends of Elvis as being a celebrity stalker.

There seem to be some issues there...I better leave it at that.

I thought it odd last night when that happened that what I assumed were her requests to have certain things removed were being honored, when she was essentially a co-conspirator in certain related problems in the past, which themselves had to be removed. I had a hand in that, BTW.

Maybe she threatened the admins with banning them for life from all future events at a certain house...which is actually a rather empty threat, when you consider it might not even be standing in a few short years, if things don't change. Slight exaggeration, but you know what I mean.

Yeah, that one has really surprised me, you go out and buy a house that Elvis was actually connected with but do not spend the money to restore or repair the carport or swimming pool.

The only logical thing is she and her partners in their zeal to buy it overpaid for it by roughly $200,000, the average house only goes for 180,000 in the neighborhood.

I was offered it by her caretaker for the low low price of $350,000.00 in the condition it is in. EPE wanted to buy it and restore it but lost interest I have been told. Have you ever been in the Gary Pepper house next door?

    Haven't been in it, no.

Is that the one which was on the market for what seemed like an eternity a few years back? And it had some Elvis cardboard standups and other things like that in the windows while it was vacant? (Or was that at Vernon's...I observed that on a couple separate trips a while back, but that was well before I ever went inside Vernon's, so I'm a little fuzzy on that.)

    Anyway, how does it compare?

BTW, I wish EPE would buy it. I think it would be a nice addition to the tour...Have a little pathway through Graceland's back yard and go right through the gate.

Yes, that is the same house. It was own by a lady Phyllis Callas (I believe is her last name) she was featured in Joe's DVD Best Friend Remembers, as one of the more unusal fans. She bought the house from Gary Pepper's family after his death. Gary was given the house from Elvis. Graceland Barn is directly behind his house and before EPE installed the new fences directly behind 1266 Dolan and her house. Elvis used to ride Rising Sun or his motorcycle up to their house and visit Gary.

The property that Vernon's old house stands on was once the back gate to Graceland before the gate was installed behind the offices of EPE (it was the former Church of Christ and a lot of fans didn't know the drive connected to the back of Elvis carport when he was alive, now LMP and Priscilla use it on occasion to come in undetected by fans to Graceland)

Phyllis dated Charlie Hodge and a few other MMM's in her prime. She was one of the original Gate Groupies. Her house was stuffed floor to ceiling with papers, clippings etc. She was also the lady on the DVD that claimed when she takes a shower Elvis appears on her bathroom mirror and she could see his image. She also showed me her sliding glass door that has frosted with his image because his ghost enjoyed coming to Gary's house so much. She is a wonderful lady though somewhat eccentric. She sold her home to a man last year and moved to the apartments down the street from EPE's offices that they own.

EPE expressed interest in Vernon's old home but DM wants too much money and with the needed repairs EPE will not spend the money for it.

Thanks for all the great info, SouthPaw.

Must say, I am curious: how did the frosted image on the shower door look to you?

I wonder if I could use that drive to come in undetected...

Regarding the needed repairs to the 'Vernon house', honestly if I were the owner and knew EPE to be seriously interested in acquiring it, well first of all, I would hopefully not have let it fall into such a state of disrepair. But if somehow I had, given EPE's resources and intentions, selling it to them at a reasonable price appropriately discounted by the cost of the needed work might be the way to go, rather than doing the work yourself, potentially ending up with results with which EPE might not be pleased. Plus, then you'd be asking for a higher price which alone could kill EPE's interest. But last I heard her say, they have not shown interest in some time. What does she say in defense of its current condition, if she does?

A side note...I have always assumed it was Gary Pepper Elvis was addressing in the July 5, 1976 Memphis show. (It's just a quick "How ya doin', Gary?" or maybe "Hey Gary, how ya doin'?") No way to know for sure, but it seems reasonable to assume...for whatever it's worth.

Years ago before Elvis died, there was a gate that was open all the time, back by the pool house now it is gone replaced by the Graceland property fence. Phyllis had a ladder up behind the pool house you could climb and look over the fence. As far as being able to go on the propery undetected, I would not try. You and I think alike so I will let you into a little secret, as I was on the ladder I noticed there is motion detectors mounted on the barn and on the fence. I was surprised that EPE had actually gone to the expense and had taken the time to go to those extremes. (Now, the question is are they actually real or just fake to deter would be trespassers, like you and me from taking the free tour????)

You do get a very nice view of the back of the property and a very up close look at the barn, which I have always wondered why they have never let the fans see it too as part of the tour.

The pool house was actually were the "Stanley Boys" would rehearse when they were trying to have a band. Now trespassers to the Dolan house actually sleep there from time to time when passing by. Phyllis said she has actually caught fans in sleeping bags in the pool house from time to time.

EPE probably will not make the investment into the property for the fact it would be a major disturbance to the neighborhood since it is relatively a quiet area and Elvis actually didn't visit it that often since it was in fact the house built for Vernon and Dee. I suspect Elvis had them come to him mostly at Graceland. There is a nice relic from those days, the phone upstairs on the wall had a intercom button that rang into Graceland, since then it has been disconnected. I would suspect if DM gave it to them then they might use it for something but doubt they would spend any money for it. The upstairs balcony off the boys rooms has fallen off the back of the house. The carport main spport beam has broken in half.

As for Gary's house, the sliding door was in fact smoked but honestly I did not see the image of Elvis that Phyllis saw. She is as I have said somewhat eccentric in her appearance and demeanor, which is fine but with everything I guess I am more on the reserved side anymore when it comes to the people associated with Elvis.

It had occurred to me that if EPE was not interested in Vernon's house for a reason beyond its current condition and other financial considerations, it would be that. Makes sense...the presentation of Elvis' parents' bedroom and then a house for Vernon and his second wife would probably not seem ideal to them.

As I haven't had a good look at it, I hadn't thought how the barn ought to be added to the tour. That's a nice idea.

The Dolan perspective of the Graceland property sure is a neat one.

He said that "fake " tickets have a line..but this CAN'T be true..since I've seen tons of real tickets with a diagonal line....and my personal ticket has a diagonal line...
yet some don't have diagonal line..
anyone know what it's for??..does this mean that it was a sold out concert???
The DIAGONAL LINE is for the people checking Tickets, when you enter the Arena.

i.e. OMAHA JUNE 30th 1974 (2 shows) and JULY 1st ( 1 show) the tickets are as follows....

30th June 74 (Afternoon Show) ticket = ONE Diagonal Line
30th June 74 (Evening Show) ticket = NO (zero) Diagonal Line
-1st July '74. (Evening Show) ticket = TWO Diagonal Lines.

when you have 1000s of fans entering for a show, you need to know they are using the correct days, or which concert tickets it is for that day... a Diagonal line is easier to see than look at the small print for the Date and Time of which show it is !

Re: Concert Tickets:Diagonal line vs. non diagonal Line

To be honest - I´ve never thought about this theme, but the last comment by rex martin seems to be absolutely logic to me. When you have more than one show in one venue (two shows in one day or more than one show) you need to make them visibly different - it´s impossible to watch by organizers what time of show is on the ticket! Perfect and logic reason for me! Another reason that I could see as logic is to make a clear difference for sectors in hall.... different entrace to the hall for people on sectors on North side of venue or South side... some halls are made that you can get wherever you need from every entrance, but not all.... But that´s just what I think - my theory.... Rex´s version sounds perfect to me.

Another thing: that site (http://www.elvis.net/tickets/tickets...77pmframe.html) was that site that I´ve seen a lot of years ago with tickets past Memphis August shows! There really were already planned shows as you can see even for end of September 77...

    If you?ve been a bad
oh Lord I bet you have
