Thread: Elvis and plastic surgery

I donīt think he would have had work done if he were here and saw how ridiculous some people look after repeated plastic surgery, at least not to that lengh.

I think Elvis would look just as silly as Burt Reinolds for example. And looking at Tom Jones, that's not a pretty sight either. The sad thing with plastic surgery when used to 'cover' your age, is that all people but you can easily see that you've had surgery.

In some ways, it's probably better he died relatively young. The idea of Elvis as a vain old man is even less appealing than what actually happened to him.
Yep gelto l agree. Elvis did care alot about his looks so l think he would get work done to make him more younger looking.

    Albert,

You said it Best ! I could not agree more !!
When you see someone with any work done they either look like a zombie or looked stretched out (so to speak)
Take a look at Dolly Parton or Priscilla Presley and Jacko. Horrible just horrible, why not just grow old gracefully .............

Unfortunately, people & IMO, especially Elvis, don't do things with that much forethought. They don't feel that things "like that" could ever happen to them! I mean, plastic looking people are out there - famous people. Do you think that cosmetic surgeons are out of business? No, they are flourishing! Some people know when to stop - Jane Fonda. [Please, don't think that I am a big Fonda fan, but in her case she was smart enough to stop while she was ahead]
Others just think they can get by with 'one more' or a 'new procedure'. Then hindsight comes in. Elvis has shown us that he thought he was invincible in a lot of these cases - the drugs, the women, the friends he chose in later years. Maybe Elvis would have been smart about this, but I just don't think so.

Just pretend, I'm holding you, and whispering things soft and low.
And think of me, how it's gonna be and just pretend I didn't go

Dunno Lisarose, sometimes i think we play this "what if game" with Elvis not realizing he could have change his mind on things we take for granted he would have done one way or another only because he acted like he did along his short life but the thing is had he lived untill today he could have learn and do things differently just like the rest of us people that are still here. He didnīt have more time and he didnīt have to act and think the same had he grow old IMO.

I agree to everything you said and l really feel elvis would of done what he wanted even if he looked at people who are plastic. I remember reading that the boys tryed to talk him out of the eye lift, but elvis felt he needed it so he doesn't listern to advice, he's a chance taker.

But his vanity diminished during the last years, otherwise he would have
lost a lot of weight or would't let it come thus far. Besides I think he
wouldn't have wanted that other people knew he had whatever work done,
and obviously you just can't hide it .

I think his vanity diminished so much in his last couple of years because by that time the drugs had completely taken over his life. They literally seemed to take over, which is what happens right before an addict of any kind finally bottoms out as they say. An addict can't get help until they have hit rock bottom, which is different for each and every person.

Yes I know it was because of the drugs, but some were talking about how
vain he was so he would have had plastic surgery done. I just think he
would begin at the wrong end....imagine Elvis aged 42 weighing the same like
in 69/72....I think he would not have the intention of having any work
done, especially if he would see examples of how he could possibly look
    like...after the event .

Seems that I read somewhere (SO I DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH TRUTH THERE IS TO THIS!) that Elvis had wanted to have that gastric by-pass surgery (in one of his visits to the hospital in 76), which was only experimental back in the mid 70's, but his doctors told him no b/c its not something that is done without a complete lifestyle change!!! I wonder if someone could verify this???

Here's the interview with Dr Nick. It was the colon surgery.
No doctor would do it because he was Elvis Presley .
Guess they were afraid of lawsuits . Crazy, huh?

Because of who he was. So, I doubt he would have found a doctor to do it.
    {A reputable one anyway.}
Celebrities sure have no problem in finding doctors to do it nowadays. If you have the money then it's pretty much a done deal.

As for Elvis the eye surgery in '75 I think was him affraid of getting old and loosing his looks, he had just turned 40 as well so im sure all that was in the back of his mind.

Elvis paid for Felton Jarvis' kidney transplant I know of...and at the September 28th 1974 College park show elvis was joking around with him say if he didn't fix the sound he would take back that kidney.

Yes..I knew that. But....I could swear that Lamar had some sort of procedure done that Elvis paid for. I'll take a look and see.

Elvis paid for a nose job for George Klein, an intestinal bypass for Lamar Fike, a kidney transplant for his friend and producer Felton Jarvis, even a breast augmentation operation for one of the Mafia wives (upon her husband's request).
