    Paradise, Hawaiin Style

    Hello all,

My first post here and I had to mention this movie. Caught most of it on TV the other day and I can't believe how awful Elvis looked. I mean fat, my God.
Some sort of bloat or something to him-he didnt seem as heavy in Clambake and I am not sure about Frankie and Johnny. This has to be the nadir of his movies for me-having said that though, I'd watch it again!

at least his belly wasn't bloated ..i cant say he was fat on that movie, he is just a little more chubby.

    Hi Joe, welcome aboard...

I wouldn't call Elvis fat, but he did look very bloated and overweighed at various points of the movie. Same goes for various other Elvis movies from '66-'67. It was clearly time for a turningpoint in Elvis life by that time. Fortunately it came: his marriage with Priscilla, the recording of non-soundtrack material (gospel LP, Big Boss Man, etc.) and the 68 Comeback Special.

Thank you Albert; I have lurked for a long time.

I am glad those turning points came for Elvis, it's amazing how great things turned for him in just 2 years from this movie. Hope nobody was offended that I used the term "fat"-he just didn't have that lean look to him he had in Girls Girls Girls etc.
