What Would Happen To The Colonel if Managing Elvis Today

I came across this and couldn't help but think of what would have happened to him in this day and age. Although Elvis was far from a boyband type it's managing side of of it I'm talking about.

Boy band creator sentenced to 25 years in prison

I would hope that if Elvis had lived past that fateful day in 1977, he would have finally gotten his act together personally AND professionally, and that includes DUMPING The Colonel!!!

Good gosh MojoElvis........I hope you don't think Elvis would have been sent away for 25 years. IMO..I can't see Elvis involved with a boy band at any level.

GO MIKEY!!! Dumping the old Colonel would have been the best thing for Elvis.

Every boy band creator should be sentenced to 25 years prison!

The quote on this photo sums it up perfectly, IMO.

I would rather have seen Elvis finally lay down the law to the Colonel and that their relationship was changed to suit Elvis better.

Sure, the Colonel ripped Elvis off and did a lot of other things, but he was a great manager for promotion in the general sense. No one could do what he did, nor so well.

I can see your idea working Getlo, if Elvis were to hire someone to keep tabs on the Colonel to be sure everything he was doing was on the up and up. With both Elvis and Vernon not being that knowledgeable in business dealings, I think they put WAY too much faith in The Colonel and because of that, things happened the way they did.

But if there were an outside presence...someone that was not already a member of the Presley entourage...and they were brought in to oversee the business dealings that The Colonel was putting together, then that might have worked.

I agree Parker should have got the law laid down to him in no uncertain terms or Elvis should have got rid of him. Parker was a master at promotion that is true- but his best talent was self promotion to Elvis IMO.
I think Parker was perfect for the 50s and into the early 60s-but after that?????

Yes the men who build the bands with no real musical direction-except for monetary profit.

I think Parker did well in the beginning. Since meeting and talking to a couple of the Presley attorneys, I can't help but wonder why Elvis --or even Vernon didn't get rid of him. Maybe, the long history they had together ?
    Don't know ,I just wish they'd dumped him !
