I think he was planning to record the song in 71 for a folk album that he was going to make but never got around to it.

I'm sure I've got the track on disc, I'll try and find it. I have around 40 Vegas concerts on disc from 1972 so it may take me a little while.

There is one studio rehearsal version, and two live recordings from Vegas in February '72 only available as an audience recording (so far at least).

The rehearsal is also, presumably, from February '72.

Correct. In fact, the version on the Leavin' boot LP is actually looped, so it plays twice consecutively to make it longer.
