Agree wholeheartedly.
I couldn't have said it better myself.
If these clowns want to sing Elvis, fine. Then sing Elvis. There is no need to do the jumpsuit thing!![]()
What is YOUR opinion about them?
I personally hate them, and think they should be all shot LOL
I don't care if some are a bit good, there is only one Elvis, and seeing anybody besides the real Elvis in a white Jumpsuit and the Elvis hairdo and big sideburns looks completely foolish to me.
I know some of the ladies seem to love them Impersonators, and even i have sang for some years Elvis songs at events ,but i would perform as myself in nice clothes, being me..not pretending to be someone else at all.
Well tell me whatya think![]()

Getlo - cute'n'cuddly
I think most of us have given our opinions on this before.
I don't mind the ETA's at all. They perform a "service" and a need.
Personally, I don't go see any. But, I don't mind the ones that do.
Some of them perform a great service to others, as Tim Dudley on here .
As been said about different opinions here.
Stay away from things you don't like.![]()
"I have learned never to ridicule any man's opinion, however strange it may seem."
There's more than a few of us Elvis fans where I work. One fan was going to go to Vegas for her vacation, I'm pretty sure she was much to young to have ever seen Elvis in person and someone told her to be sure to see Elvis while she was in Vegas. My response would have been, "But, Elvis is dead." And though I'm old enough to have seen Elvis when he was alive, I did not have that privilege. Why on earth would I want to see an impersonator? I like good performers and good performances. I like a guy who can sing a good Elvis song.
Why do imitators wear the 70's jumpsuit and have the 50's hairstyle? Isn't that overkill? Even Elvis gave up the "greasy kid stuff"!
Just pretend, I'm holding you, and whispering things soft and low.
And think of me, how it's gonna be and just pretend I didn't go

I just think its funny and sad that people have to judge someone by what they do and not to get to know them first before saying the word "hate" or "dislike." But like I tell people for every 1 person that hates us 2 more like us because we bring back memories and we just love Elvis music.
Hey if it wasn't for Elvis and God I would not have the chance to perform on Capital Hill in Washington D.C. infront of the Capital Building with Thousands and Thousands of Elvis Fans and Kellie Pickler Fans because I got to perform with her. Patti Page was to be there but her husband I believe had stroke or heart attack I can't remember.
I've got to meet some his friends and family and got to know Elvis a little bit better threw contest and show. I got to meet Al 2 months before his accident on his way home from Vegas that took his life. Al and I talked for almost hour just about Elvis and those are the kind of memories I love about doing this for a living.
Love to all,

Another useless thread in my opinion.
Respect them, you don't have to like them.
And some are better than others of course.
But no need to say nasty things about them.
They are OK to me as long as they respect Elvis and do everything to keep his memory alive![]()
No - Tim wears the jumpsuits and has the right hairstyle for that jumpsuit. I meant the old hairstyle and the jumpsuit together! Not a very good job of impersonating - just a bad imitator. I just don't like the over-the-top guys. Anything and everything for a laugh or to get noticed. You might ask Tim--or the ones that love seeing and hearing him.

well there are impersonators and then there are elvis tributes and i like the elvis tributes that are good honest tributes dedicated to keeping the memory alive although i have some trouble with some impersonators who dress up like ideots with silly wigs and cheap suits and sound nothing like elvis and who always say thank you thank you very much those annoy me i have a very good friend who is a tribute he sings elvis songs so that people who like elvis can come along and enjoy the music and maybee relive some memories they have of times gone by but he refuses to try immitate the way elvis talks and he spends alot of money on his suits and his image he is a true elvis fan and respects elvis and its people like that who i enjoy and not the people who make a mockery of elvis and his image
This subject has been hashed out on here numerous times, so once again I'll put in my thirty five cents worth
IMO, Elvis Impersonators / Tribute Artists (or however you wish to categorize them) are like eating broccoli - either you have the taste for it, or you don't.
Personally, I have no problem with them as long as they 1) are respectful to Elvis' image 2) give Elvis the credit for the music 3) try and educate accurately the audience in the various areas of Elvis music and life.
It was a fine tribute artist (Eddie Miles http://www.eddiemiles.com/) that got me back in to listening to Elvis and collecting his memorabilia.
So as long as this is the result of their work, I'm ok with it.![]()

ithe fat guys who wear the jumpsuits. it's not at all funny, you all!
but i do like the guys who can sing good.
and Pelvis, you're an impersonator & you hate impersonators? did i misread your post?
i read a book with Elvis as the main character, the author stated that Elvis impersonators became rampant during Elvis' army days because the fans just missed him so much. wonder how much of that is true? anybody have any opinion on lthat one?
