No, I haven;t. That is very interesting.
I was listening to the "Steve Wright Show" on BBC R2 yesterday and on the show there is a segment where they announce unusual facts. One of yesterday's 'facts' was that "the trucking company for which Elvis worked for before becoming famous was owned by Frank Sinatra."
Have I missed something here cos I've never heard of this one before has anyone else?
That aint tactics honey....that's just the beast in me.
Elvis PRESLEY:The most important, most influential artist of the 20th century. b. 8 Jan 1935, Mississippi, US, d. 16 Aug 1977. He holds, or has held, almost every chart-related record including perhaps the most important: more No.1s than any act in chart history.
I don't think Frank owned this company. Seems highly unlikely!
I dream a world where man no other man
will scorn. Where LOVE will bless the earth
and peace its paths adorn...
Elvis drove a truck, but wasn't he employed by Crown Electric - driving their trucks? What other trucking job did he have?
Just pretend, I'm holding you, and whispering things soft and low.
And think of me, how it's gonna be and just pretend I didn't go
That has to be one of the goofiest rumors that I have heard in quite awhile!![]()
Totally agree.
I felt like emailing the show to tell them they need to check their sources before they present their 'facts'.That has to be one of the goofiest rumors that I have heard in quite awhile!
No wonder I hear "non" Elvis fans say such utter rubbish about our man.![]()

Good luck with e-mailing. I have e-mail a few correcting them and most don't take it well. There are so many mistakes in facts it is unreal. I don't think they care like the fans do. As far as I know the only one who drove truck for a short time was Vernon.
Quite a stretch I think.....but since Frank was associated with Mafia and trucking was a big deal to mafia types............nah
LOL LOL LOL Thats a funny one !!!! NExt time one of us is in Memphis they should find out ..
R.I.P ~ROSANNE~
We will forever miss you at TCB
Tell Elvis we say HI
The only way I can see Frank Sinatra involved in any way in a trucking company in Memphis is if the company was owned by a large corporation back then and perhaps Frank owned some of that corporations stock. That would make him "an" owner-but not a direct owner. Just a guess.
