That's a good song, Sara. I would like to hear Elvis sing this one:
Avril Lavigne - Temple of Life

knowing how Elvis felt about gospel music, how do you think he would feel about today's gospel music? seems like the songs he loved had that 'old time' feel about them. the old fashioned hymns.
do you think he would have sung
awesome God
i can only imagine http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=S70gwFcSK9k
[this is one i'd love to hear him sing with that powerful & heartfelt voice]
testify to love & etc.
are there any songs you would love to hear?
All I wanted was a white knight with a good heart, soft touch, fast horse
Ride me off into the sunset Baby, I'm forever yours

My favorite of his 'gospel music' is Miracle of the Rosary. He sings with such
feeling. I still can't believe he did this one. I'd love to hear his version of City of God.
or the Hallelujah song from Shrek. I can't think of the name of that one right now.
Miss Clawdy, I like your pick, too.
Just pretend, I'm holding you, and whispering things soft and low.
And think of me, how it's gonna be and just pretend I didn't go
Nothing like Elvis Presley and Gospel Music.
Just take a listen to You'll Never Walk Alone. Especially the live (only) version from July 19th 1975 Uniondale, NY evening show ! Will blow you away![]()

I like the song I Can Only Imagine, but I always associate it with such an unpleasant time for our family. When my son was 16 he had a good friend that died from cancer. They played this at the funeral and all the HS kids sang along with it. Needless to say...there were NO dry eyes in the house that day.
I love to hear him sing that old time gospel that he so enjoyed with JD and the gang. I never tire of hearing him sing RUN ON.![]()

I think Elvis would have done a beautiful job on "I Can Only Imagine." I, like Rosanne, associate this song with a sad period. The first time I heard this song was the day that my godmother and my mom's only sister/sibling died suddenly at age 50, without warning --- very sad period in my life, but very poignant song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"More people today should see him not simply as a performer, but as an artist with a great soul."
