I have also wondered this question to my self before.
Everytime time i hear the James Bond theme i think of Surrender!
The James Bond theme was recorded and used in 1962 for the Dr. No film.
Surrender was recorded in 1960 and released in early 1961 and was a no1 hit in the UK and USA.
I put it to you that the intro of Surrender was the inspiration for the James Bond theme. Surrender was a smash hit, there’s no way that the Bond composers were not aware of it.
Agree or just a coincidence?

I did this topic on another forum. If you listen to the beginning of Surrender it sounds like the main James Bond theme for few seconds.

Yes, the two songs do have similarities in their sound that's for sure
I've always felt they should've had Elvis do a theme song for one of the Bond films.

I'll be darned! I never made the connection. (Mr. Obvious reference for those familiar.)
They are indeed very close.
...you won't forget me when I go.
Well, the name Elvis will be connected to the upcoming Bond movie Quantum Of Solace, since one of the characters (till now a mystery though who it will be, and what part he or she will have) is named Elvis.
