    Charlton Heston dead.

Couldn't abide by the man's politics, but I admired him as an actor.

    One of Elvis' favourites.

Chuck's autobiography, In The Arena, is worth a read.

i enjoyed him as an actor and had respect for him as a man who stood up for his principles-but his political views and mine were on opposing sides. He made some great films one of my favorites was "The Private War of Major Benson".

Some interesting opinions on here....obviously not alot of conservatives. Yes...he was great, a real throwback to the old Hollywood days. No one has mentioned it, but he was even good in 1968 when he was in The Planet Of The Apes.

He was a great actor, one of the last of the old school. My favourite
epic films were Ben Hur and Antony and Cleopatra, but I wasn't fond of
    his fanatic views on arms.
