Elvis PRESLEY:The most important, most influential artist of the 20th century. b. 8 Jan 1935, Mississippi, US, d. 16 Aug 1977. He holds, or has held, almost every chart-related record including perhaps the most important: more No.1s than any act in chart history.
Interesting, thanks for posting.
some nice pics there are some i'v never seen before thanks for posting
I enjoyed that, great pictures, thank you.
Cool pics, but there is no way to prove one way or the other that they are from July 31st.
And the first pic (walking down the hall with Charlie) is definitely not from July 31st, and is in fact not from a performance time. The suit Elvis is wearing is chocolate brown. I think the pic is in the galleries in colour (?).
Getlo - cute'n'cuddly
yeh ur right getlo!
1969 july 31st, will we ever see anything?? sob sob!
Love that picture where Elvis is looking into a car and his reflection is showing back on the glass.![]()

The live photos are definitely not from the 31st July. On opening night, as far as I know, Elvis wore a black 2 piece suit like the one worn later for the press conference. The following links show the suit worn on opening night :

Could be that one or more of these photos were shot on opening night. Who knows?
I read somewhere (can't find the article at the moment) that a reporter (female) reported after this press conference that "he looked thin as a rail and handsome as 10 movie stars." I guess that about sums it up for me!!!! I've seen these pictures on this site and occasionally when I need a little smile, I always find myself back there.....that was of course before I discovered this site with its 40,000 plus pictures!!!!![]()
"More people today should see him not simply as a performer, but as an artist with a great soul."
