Now that is what I am talking about! That is nice! I have to go by there later on.
PHOTO IS BY FAMOUS PHOTOGRAPHER GEORGE KALINSKY WHO ALSO RECENTLY DISCOVERED MANY NEVER-BEFORE-SEEN ELVIS PHOTOS
IMAGES ARE FROM 1972 PERFORMANCE AT MADISON SQUARE GARDEN.
EXHIBIT OF THE “LOST PHOTOS” WILL OPEN AT GRACELAND IN MAY.
Right in the heart of Times Square is one of the world’s most iconic rock ‘n roll stars looking over one of New York’s most iconic locations. At 36-foot by 76-foot, a newly unveiled three-story billboard of Elvis Presley greets the more than 1.5 million people who visit Times Square each day. The image on the billboard was captured by award winning photographer, George Kalinsky, who also recently discovered several photos of Elvis that have never been seen publicly.
As the official photographer of Madison Square Garden and Radio City Music Hall and the special photographer for the New York Mets, Kalinsky has created some of the most celebrated images of famous people. World renowned, he has captured some of the greatest moments in the history of sports, entertainment, and politics. In 2002, the photo industry honored him with the International Photographer of the Year award.
The recently discovered “Lost Photos” were created by Kalinsky while he was photographing Elvis’ second-night performance in Madison Square Garden in 1972. He recently came across them and realized they had never been seen by the general public. “It’s a treasure trove of photos,” commented Kalinsky. “When I discovered them I contacted the folks at Graceland, who were thrilled.”
The collection of never before published photos will be displayed at Graceland in May as part of “Elvis Jumpsuits: All Access,” a fashion exhibit featuring more than 50 of Elvis’ famous stage wear jumpsuits. A grand opening for the Kalinsky photo exhibit is scheduled for Memorial Day weekend at Graceland. The billboard is part of the “Great Moments in New York” campaign.

"When I was a child, ladies and gentlemen, I was a dreamer. I read comic books, and I was a hero in the movie. So every dream that I ever dreamed has come true a hundred times. I learned very early in life that without a song, the day would never end; without a song, a man ain't got a friend; without a song, the road would never bend; without a song. So I keep singing a song." - Elvis Presley
WOW! That be awesome!
that's too cool, how much more of elvis is stashed away.?
''Baby I dun told you, after the show"
Very cool! What a great discovery! This image makes a fine wallpaper too, BTW.
...you won't forget me when I go.
It looks fantastic! But did they really have to wait for a never before seen photo to decide to do this? I mean, if King Kong can be on the Empire State Building, or Godzilla can make a home out of Madison Square Garden, then surely Elvis deserves to be on Times Square! It's about time!!!!!!!!!!![]()
Rosanne,
Weren't you just telling me a few minutes ago "YOU'VE ALWAYS WANTED TO GO TO NEW YORK"????? Well, I think it may be time!!!!!!!
