Talking Elvis in Vernon's Office ??

Does anybody have any photos at all of Elvis in Vernon's (his daddy's) office?... the office is located in the back of Graceland... I'm looking for any photos from the March 1960 Interview when Elvis had just got back from the Army... or any other photos of him just hanging around in that office area...would be greatly appreciated...TCB for now my friends.

Does anyone have a clip of this in color? I remember watching, This Is Elvis, when it first came out and it was in color. You could see it in recent versions. The second it cuts into this scene, you'll see it in color for about 1 second.

...the video is awesome..thank you so much...yes, that is were the interview was held... it's funny when you watch it because he tries not to talk about Cilla at all and one of the guys asks him about a girl...and then he starts laughing abit...because she was so young...LOL..

I think he was embarrassed because he really didn't want to admit that he was serious about Priscilla and afraid the media would run away with it as they did anyway.

I'd say your right with this one Diane Besides, she was a bit underage at the time..soooooo...I'm sure it wouldn't have been ideal publicity for him.

Daddy, I miss you more every day. You will always be my hero..

I really don't see the big deal about Priscilla's age as people from the south where Elvis was brought up used to marry very young. What was the age limit? 15, 16? She was almost 15 I think when he met her and 17 when she moved to Graceland. What I never understood is if he loved her so much, why did he wait so many years to marry her?

Well, that is a good question. From what I've read, the Colonel always cautioned him about negative publicity concerning Pris' age...guess the fact that he was not planning to marry her at that time may have been the difference. If you want to believe the many accounts about the 'Elvis and Priscilla' thing, I guess one might concieve the notion that he wasn't really sure if she was the one he was actually searching for. I think he had a preconcieved notion pertaining to his ideal woman...and perhaps he thought that time would tell whether or not she was it. Just a guess...

I don't get any of that attitude either, i seriously doubt it was the age thing, tho. i think it was really Elvis, becasue it seems to me, that while he craved female companionship a nd wanted someone to love, he wanted several someones. i think he was only to happy to let the Col. be the fall guy on the relationship thing. just my opinion

In Texas the girl had to be 18 and the boy had to be 21.......

I'm with you!! As a married woman, I don't pretend to understand his needing several someones, but I think he really did love her and was happy being married until sometimes after his first Vegas season and that business with the birth of Lisa Marie and his issues regarding sex. I think monogamy is sexy...something about a man who loves his wife unbashfully, it is something that I can't explain, but her age was an issue also b/c its agains the law -- what's the saying "17 will get you 20" meaning 17 years old will get you 20 years in jail!! This could be bad for his image!!! I read somewhere that after his marriage was announced, there were fans that called Graceland saying that their lives were over b/c he was 'no longer available'......
