Is the new TTWII Classic Album release just a rehash of the 30th Anniversary BMG release?
The April FTD release of 'That's The Way It Is' is an interesting one with several fans writing to EIN saying that FTD's recently announced 'TTWII' deluxe Classic Album release is only a revisit of the BMG 30th Anniversary 3-CD TTWII' Special Edition and not worth ordering. As Elvis fans often complain of being forced to buy the same material repeatedly for only a couple of new Elvis snippets - are they being ripped off once again? EIN's Piers Beagley checks out the details and reasons that this FTD version will in fact become a firm favourite.

The CD includes 29 new takes and should be very interesting especially in upgraded sound–Plus a great booklet – looks like a real winner to me!

Elvis was singing at the top of his game and it's worth buying just for the 29 new takes including Elvis classics, "Stranger In The Crowd"and one of my favourite Elvis songs –"The Next Step Is Love," hopefully the rehearsals of this tune are from the TTWII ORIGINAL DVD on which his voice is just soaring and we may get the, "next step is sex" line.

Again the CD is worth buying just for the fantastic artwork and don't forget the King never looked better than in 1970.

about whether or not we're being suckered into buying anything ELVIS, it's good that fans like us have a place whre we can come and find great reviews stating the good & bad before we invest our money. that's important to me, i'm still a poor student with years of student loans to pay off!

Good review, I'm looking into it. I just hope the booklet is easy on old eyes. One cd I bought was red print on black background in tiny letters. Give me a break!!!
