You're exactly right, Tina. I think there's a lot of "dislike" for the MM and/or for those who were in Elvis' life! Elvis did think of the MM as friends' and did have them around for so many years...So, why are we to "assume" the worst in them!
It's not saying much about Elvis, if they were all no good!
franny
I don't dislike all the MM. Just the ones that still live off him.![]()
"I have learned never to ridicule any man's opinion, however strange it may seem."
It would be easier to name the ones that haven't.
Charlie Hodge and Al Strada . I've not seen much from Red West,Billy Smith or Jerry Schilling either .Some just gave the rest a bad name. They'll just have to live with it.

Man Oh Man ! Sonny An That Whole Gang Need To Get A Dam Life. And Im Not Sorry For Saying It!!!! They Need To Quit Riding Elvis Presley Coat Tails..................
TCB W/TLC (((HUGS))...
Have to disagree here, jak. To my eyes, the Bubba trailer was terrific, so I went to see it based on that. Ended up hating the film! Hated it so much, I demanded my money back ... and got it!
Exactly. There is a huge difference between good-natured ribbing (or "piss-take" as we say here in Australia) and downright nastiness. From this trailer, it seems as if the movie is making fun of the "Elvis is alive" theory, and I for one think this is one subject that should be open to ridicule, as well as the fools who believe it.

You must be joking.
Hodge spent the rest of his life living off the "gravy train" as you call it. He also wrote a book, remember (a boring, turgid, sychophantic puff piece - a perfect reflection of the man himself).
And Schilling ... ?! He's been sucking at the Presley teat for EPE for years, and is still "living off Elvis" with his work for them. He wrote another book as well, although it was nowhere near as pathetic as Hodge's.
Sonny still works regularly (in the non-Elvis world) and has not stopped since 1977. His Elvis show is a small part of his life, and most of his money comes from other interests.

"I have learned never to ridicule any man's opinion, however strange it may seem."
Most thinking, objective fans do care ... the MM and Elvis' friends are essentially the last connection we have with the man, and offer better and more accurate insights into what went on (certainly better than Cilla, Lisa, nurse Cocke, Mary his cook and the minions at EPE).
It is not making fun of Elvis at all, from what the trailer tells us; it is making fun of the stupid idea that Elvis is still alive.
Then this adds credence to my theory. If the film takes the piss out of that theory, then Sonny would want to be a part of it. The Elvis is alive theories deserve to be ripped apart and exposed for the rubbish they are, in any way possible.
And of course it's okay to make fun of Elvis, and to make fun of any aspect of his life - so long as that fun is good-natured. I see nothing in this trailer than indicates otherwise.
And of course, you will choose to judge the film based solely on this trailer, and condemn it without fair appraisal.
When Elvis Met Nixon ... Elvis and The Beauty Queen .. both films were good-natured. Protecting The King was not; it was a decidedly ugly and nasty piece of work. I have seen all three films, so I can be objective.
Until I see this new flick (if I choose to see it) I shall reserve judgement.

Yes, I will judge this film . The same thing you are doing.,only putting a positive spin on it. I've seen the films and read most all the books. I don't need anyone to tell me what I might like. Most everyone can think for themselves , if given a chance.
It's too bad most of us don't know as much as we profess to know.
BTW: I heard someone was giving you a baby shower . What do you neeed?
"I have learned never to ridicule any man's opinion, however strange it may seem."
And where have I judged the film exactly? I am going on the trailer. Try to keep up.
Well, I'd probably need you to to spell correctly for a start. Then, I'd probably need for you not to be so smug and condescending. But one can't have everything.![]()

As will I. I thought I'd hate a few of them, but when I gave them a shot I ended up enjoying them. Elvis Meets Nixon, Finding Graceland, and heartbreak Hotel to name three I guessed wrong I wouldn't like. I'm not saying I'll rush to buy it, but sooner or later I see them all, If it sucks when I see it I'll say so.

Cameron, Sonny is not "still mad at Elvis for firing him" as you said. You don't know him and have no right to presume what he feels, or thinks. And quite frankly what he does or does not participate in doesn't concern you either. There are a lot of fans who love Sonny and recognize him for the man he is.
