without a song, the road would never bend,
without a song, so I'll keep singing the song.

If I'd ever put on a jumpsuit, I think the jumpsuit would end up feeling embarrassed![]()

Sorry for the delay, but I was gone for the weekend. Cherokee to answer you question: What made me become a fan. My brother played alp of Elvis and when I heard Elvis it was as if lightning stroke me. I was kinda hypnotized. I wanted to know all about that guy, that day. The day after I heard on the news that Elvis had pasted away. Ohh brother! At first I couldn't believe it, but then I realised it was true and cried my eyes out. My mum asked me what was wrong and I told her the news about Elvis death. She acted very cool and I got soooo angry. Lol. Even thou I hardly knew Elvis then. I cried all day (even at school.) It was as if I had lost a soul-mate. (It may sound strange but from the first time on that I heard Elvis it was as if I'd known him all my life.) I could see and feel the lonelyness and sadness, even when he smiled. In 1994 I lost my mum and last year a brother (due to cancer) Elvis helps me to bare the pain that still is inside of me.
Be safe and take care,

Thanks for the history on how you became a fan, Christel, very interesting.
And yes, Elvis' voice has that effect on people![]()
I lost a good friend to cancer yesterday, and found myself turning to, especially his gospel, songs throughout the entire sad period for comfort.![]()
I'm sorry to hear that Cherokee, I wish you all the strength you need. I've lost a friend two years ago to cancer and my mother-in-law has not much time left. It is a horrible desease. It's good we have Elvis his music to comfort.

I'm so sorry to hear about your experiences with this horrible disease around you. I'll be keeping your mother-in-law in my thoughts.
I lost a cousin to Alzheimer's in April, another cruel and horrible disease![]()
My friend and I also used to work together until she had to quit in early May, which is when she found out. It all happened so fast I still can't wrap my brain around it. We were all walking around like zombies today at the office![]()

It's at times like these when Elvis' music feels like he's right there with you, weird, but true. There's an Elvis song for every occassion....![]()
Thanks Cherokee.
And your right about E!'s music![]()

I'm sorry to hear this sad news Cherokee. I whish you much strength and I hope you can find the strength In Elvis songs and in the thought that you're not alone in here. We'll be there for ya. This counts for P.S.Annie too. I know how hard it is to see some one slip away. Remember one thing: when the going gets tough, the tough get going. This always helps me.

Cherokee, so sorry to hear about your friend.
I bet that a lot of those songs are indeed comforting at a time like this. If We Never Meet Again certainly comes to mind.
Take care.
...you won't forget me when I go.
Thanks all, for your kind words of support![]()
Her other good friend from work and myself will say something at her funeral on Thursday.
It's going to be the first time in my life that I will speak at a funeral and although I really
want to do this in her honor, I'm already wrecked with nerves![]()
Please send me positive thoughts coming Thursday!![]()
We will send you positive thoughts. I know for sure you will do a great job. And it doesn't matter if your nervous, I think it is great that your doing this for her. If you keep her in mind then what you do comes from the heart and that can never be wrong.
