I have been a follower of Elvis since 1955, I chose a career in showbiz after being inspired by the great man.
Then went on to record for Columbia EMI..UK had a couple of minor hits 1960/61 but British scene was to tame, so I went of to Germany for 18 months then ran a record shop in my hometown Walthamstow in London pryor to becoming one of the performers on the 70's Northern nightclub scene,am with the lady I have loved half my life, highlight of my life appearing with with James Burton in Liverpool last year as my lead guitarist in a show we dedicated to the memory of Ricky Nelson, James of course was Ricky's lead man as well..The greatest moment of my Professional life,
which has resulted in a great friendship between us.

Ricky Nelson is one of my favorites also.. I have a few of his old
records and always enjoyed his singing and acting very much. Sounds like you will have some interesting stories to tell.

I have been an Elvis fan since 2003. I am 35 and a HUGE Elvis fan! Im listening to his music, watching his movies, going to concerts of Elvis impersonators but nobody is THE REAL. Married? Yes, I have 3 children, 2 girls and A boy And a wonderfull husband. Hes not an Elvis fan but he supports me in every way

Hi I am new to this board.
My profile says pretty much everything except to say that I am a serious collector like many of us. Soon to be 40 end of June- last generation of fan who liked Elvis when he was alive and so are all my mates!
First album Elvis 40 Greatest (Arcade) - superb. I bought the Promised land LP in 1975 when I was 9 years old. Quite impressive for a 9 year old if I say so myself. However, I only liked Promised Land track to begin with and progressed onto the rest of the album later in life - 12 years old! The SUN collection followed 1975 Christmas time I think - at the time I thought it sounded like a different singer than Elvis??? I also had Elvis Recorded in Memphis 1974 which I absolutely loved. I remember at school in Music class that we could bring in records to play. I played the medley and I Got A Woman while others had brought in the Sex Pistols - which was turned off by the teacher - Mr Masters
Got into the Elvis boot vids at 16 years old watching white blobs with terrible muffled sound jumping across the TV screen - I thought it was great. Now we have the STAR DVDs - how times have changed
Anyway - a request - has anyone made alternative covers for I'll Be There 1 and 2 yet - not the Essential E ones.
