Hi i am Mark Offringa.
45 years old,big Elvis fan since i was born cause i lived then in the US and Elvis commercials were a regular sight on tv.
I've seen Elvis in real-life 5 times thanks to my mom who took me to see "The King" himself on stage at the Houston Astrodome,Madison Square Garden,International Hotel in Vegas,Midsouth-Colliseum and the Pontiac Silverdome.
I don't have a huge collection like some gaga going Elvis-fans who buy of every re-released song or whatever, a new copy cause i think that is a waste of my money.
I also don't go dressing up i a jumpsuit like an overweight Elvis of late '76 and walking the streets to confirm what most folks who are not into Elvis like to see confirmed everytime and i also don't record every little item what is on tv on "The King".What i do have are some rare and good LP's,singles.movies of "The King". And together with the memories what've experienced asa youngster in the 70's i value that more then any "look at me i'm standing with Elvis his bandmembers/former...whatever" picture some fans like to bragg about and use it in a way to show off their 'value' as a Elvis fan cause in my view,ALL fans are alike and no-one is better or more "a fan" then the other.
In all: When folks see me, they wouldn't expect me to be such a big Elvis fan except when they start talking about "how great those other socalled pop-stars of the new age are"
PS:
One more thing: I do have an akward habit:
When i travel by air i always play when the airplane gets ready to lift-off an Elvis-song and do the same when it get's ready to land again.

My oldest grandson is very interested in Elvis and the Presley family. I thought if he (my grandson Garry) could see pictures of Elvis when he was young it would let him feel closer to his Presley roots.
