Lightbulb NEW: Aloha From Hawaii Book

A new book has been published that features many rare photos from the Aloha From Hawaii concert, plus some of the other shows Elvis performed in Hawaii in 1972. Looks to be a winner

Here's some information courtesy of Elvis Australia.

I thought it sounded like a winner too.

This photo on the left is very cool and it reminds me of one of the pics from the '69 press conference.

...you won't forget me when I go.

I bought the book. My opinion:

    1. For a 100-page book, it's very small.
    2. Paid $71.90 for my copy--too much to pay, IMO.
    3. The January 12, 1973 rehearsal concert isn't mentioned at all in the book.
    4. Alot of the photos are blurry.

I'm glad to have it...but I wish I'd spent my money on something else worthwhile....

Thanks for the info Steve and Tony . Are the pics in the book really rare, Tony? Is it worth buying?

You're welcome, y'all. I do need to make a correction, though.

Not all of the photos are blurry...just some of them.

Malc you should BE in the book!

I think I'm gonna pass on it though, and instead buy the new FTD release in April.

I like the cover. If I come across it on ebay for a good price I would buy it.

The photos really aren't what I would call "rare"...just up until now "unpublished".

I suppose given the amount of Aloha shots that are out there any pictures in this book other than some backstage shots wouldn't really surprise collectors

    That's ridiculous!

Did they at least mention the non-dress rehearsal? Any pics of that?

And I'm betting it's perpetuating the one billion viewers (more than watched the moon landing! ) myth too, right?

I was a bit suss about this book when I first heard of it. Glad I didn't waste my money.

Very ridiculous if you ask me....actually, I'm incorrect again. The only mention of the January 12, 1973 show is on page 64 which only lists the songs that were performed in the rehearsal show.

Not at all. Not even the one single pic of Elvis wearing the jacket from the MSG press conference.

    Yes, they are.
