Never heard that one! How very interesting. I remember seeing the Rocky Horror Picture Show in '78 with my friends.
A few years back I remember hearing a story about Elvis seeing the stage version of "Rocky Horror" and meeting up with Meatloaf and Tim Curry after the show.
Does anyone have any more info on this?
I have always been a fan of RH and find it interesting that there is an Elvis connection.

Just pretend, I'm holding you, and whispering things soft and low.
And think of me, how it's gonna be and just pretend I didn't go
In March of 1974, TRHS opened in Los Angeles at Adler's 500-seat, newly-opened Roxy theatre/nightclub. The show was a hit, and soon it became a hangout for celebrities. (John Lennon, Keith Moon, and Elvis Presley were but a few names of those who attended the production.) Tim Curry revived his role as Dr. Frank N. Furter, but none of the other members of the original London cast performed in this ensemble. It was this company that introduced Meat Loaf to Rocky Horror. Playing the dual role of Eddie and Dr. Scott, he would further go on to perform in TRHPS with several members of the original London cast. Film veteran Graham Jarvis was cast as The Narrator, but the rest of the cast were mainly unknowns at the time.
I have been told that there is footage of Meatloaf talking about the meeting with Elvis on the "Rocky Horror" Special Edition DVD.
I will check it out tomorrow and let you know.
I don't think that there would be any reason for Meatloaf to make up such a story. Why wouldn't Elvis go see RH?

Never heard of any connection between this and Elvis.Wonder what he would have made of it?
I do recall Meatloaf claiming in an interview he met Elvis. But I don't recall the circumstance of their supposed meeting.
What is your source for this information?
This production opened at the Roxy on March 21st, 1974 and closed January 5th, 1975. Tim Curry and Meat Loaf left in September 1974. Again, it is doubtful Elvis attended, let alone went backstage.
And on another note, I don't believe this show would have been to Elvis' taste. Just a thought. It's also one of the dumbest, most overrated movies of all time, IMO.

Getlo - cute'n'cuddly
I saw the stage show in the Netherlands over here last year. It was the original London cast. When I saw the flyers and saw pictures of it I thought... Oh no.. a dragshow.. But when I sat there and they begin I just enjoyed every minute of it! It's something else like any other shows. Maybe Elvis was also just curious.
I have it from here

I finally got around to seeing the RH Special Edition DVD. And sure enough there is Meatloaf talking about Elvis coming backstage after the show and "Holding Court" with them.
And no,Meatloaf did not give any details as to the date of the meeting or how long Elvis' sideburns were etc..
So did the meeting happen?
Yes.

I love Meat Loaf, especially the Bat Out Of Hell album.I would love Elvis to have heard the album and then met Meat Loaf.I think Elvis would have been blown away by Bat Out of Hell and it may have inspired him to make great music again.
