The JFK conspiracy - like the Elvis one, the 9/11 thing and countless others - are still going strong because people don't want to believe the simple truth.
Everything about the JFK conspiracy has been disproven. There was one gunman; the US populace and much of the world simply can't accept that (although I loved Oliver Stone's flick).
9/11 was caused by a few fanatics armed with plastic knives. It was
not a government conspiracy to start a war in the Middle East (as much as I'd love to pin that one on Dubya!).
Men
really did land on the moon in 1969.
And Elvis is
dead; he did not fake his death.
That's the trouble with conspiracies: each of them fails because they cannot answer one simple question: if (
insert event here) was faked or whatever, how is it that the thousands of people required to make it all happen have kept quiet for x-amount of years?
The
simplest answers are, more often than not, the real truth.
