In doing my costume research, I came across this article. If you'll scroll about halfway down, you'll read that in the 70's, in a 4-box release, the Colonel had Elvis' clothes cut up and a swatch of his shirts put into an envelop and put into each of the box-set. My question, did anybody here purchase one of these & which shirt did you get?
Just pretend, I'm holding you, and whispering things soft and low.
And think of me, how it's gonna be and just pretend I didn't go

1969 july 31st, will we ever see anything?? sob sob!
I did by the 4 LP set Elvis's World Wide Hits Vol. 2 The Other Sides and I did get a swath of cloth in an envelope it is about a 2 inch by 2 inch piece-cotton plaid (shades of blue) shirt piece. I have never seen a picture of Elvis wearing anything like it-so I guess it was not a popular shirt with him![]()
THANKS FOR THE INFO!!!!

There seems to have been no end to what the Colonel would do for money. How could he destroy so much of the early young Elvis?
I've also seen a couple of swatches of cloth on eBay where they claim it to be from Elvis' clothing as well. I don't know if they were fake, most likely, but I wouldn't touch them with a ten-foot pole...that's just plain desecration to me.

Maybe, the Colonel had someone go out and buy a ton of shirts at Woolsworth
and had Elvis try them all on and then cut those up.![]()
Then again, Elvis did own a lot of clothes.

SUPPOSEDLY...
One of the items that was collected and cut into swatches for that box set was the white jacket with black designs that Elvis wore in CLAMBAKE.
Has anyone here that got one of those clothing swatches get a piece of this jacket??

The Colonel never ceases to amaze me
I remember seeing a picture on FECC recently that showed Elvis in the 50's tossing pieces of a shirt that had been cut into small pieces ...out of a highrise to fans.![]()
