Wow, neat!
This is soo cool! Even EPE is on the Tigers bandwagon.
Graceland Celebrates University of Memphis Basketball Team
2/21/2008
Elvis Presley Enterprises, Inc. and The University of Memphis proudly announce that Elvis Presley’s Memphis mansion, Graceland, will be bathed in blue light for the weekend of February 22, 2008 in honor of the Tiger’s success as the nation’s #1 NCAA basketball team.
Priscilla Presley, Elvis Presley’s former wife and cast member of the upcoming season of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars will be on hand along with EPE, Inc. CEO Jack Soden, U of M Athletic Director R.C. Johnson and Pouncer the Tiger mascot to flip the ceremonial switch and light up the National Historic Landmark in the Tiger’s trademark color of blue.
The lighting ceremony will take place Friday, February 22, 2008 at 7PM CST at the famous gates of Graceland.
In what is being called Operation: Blue Suede Shoe, Graceland’s employees have outfitted over 150 spotlights scattered around the 13 acre Graceland compound with special bulbs to illuminate the King of Rock n’ Roll’s famous home in a glowing shade of blue.
Each year over 600,000 visitors from all over the world travel to Memphis and tour Elvis Presley’s Graceland and its related attractions.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO TIGERS!!!!
I'm gonna be there tonight to see it.
The game's gonna be nationally televised on ESPN.
I'm sure they'll show a view of Graceland as they always do when they come to broadcast our games.
Sounds very interesting.
Yall, the blue lights at Graceland were beautiful!
I didn't get to go down there, mainly because it was cold out. But it was on the local news and they showed Cilla at Graceland.
She flipped the ceremonial switch and the mansion and the grounds all lit up BLUE!
Our pom pom squad was there, Pouncer our mascot, and RC Johnson our athletic director who's a huge fan.
Cilla was even wearin a blue top to rep the Tigers. She's very excited herself.
The whole city is turned blue all day all over!
Banks, businesses, companies all over have had a Blue Day in honor of our #1 rankin and the big game.
Down on Beale, it was crazy! We saw 2 UT fans almost get into a fight by trash talkin with some Tiger fans, lol
Folks are takin this very serious. It's bigger than the Superbowl or World Series.
I'm so pumped I can't sleep right now. I'm too anxious and can't wait for tomorrow night.
I've been to many games before, but this will be like no other. It's gonna be crazy!
And to top it all off.....JT's gonna be there as well!![]()
*gasps* Justin!? Sorry, I wish I was there! My aunt from Memphis just left here last weekend. If I knew I should have went back with her! Surprised she didn't tell me about it herself, she's an Elvis fan too. Her and my mom was both born and raised in New Albany, Mississippi and she said when she was younger she used to look out at the bus station trying to see if she could catch him. Sorry OT
They just showed inside of Graceland on ESPN's College Basketball Gameday live from the FedEx Forum in Memphis. The place is loud and packed in a sea of blue. I think I saw our very own Lakeisha. She was wearing a grey overhead Memphis sweater. The announcer Reece Davis said everyone from Priscilla Presley to Peytion Manning was attending the game tonight. It is live on ESPN right now for those who want to watch. I'm a big Tiger fan myself. I have loved the Tigers since #34 EP (Elliott Perry) played for them back in the late 80's then Penny Hardaway and to now with Calipari and Chris Douglas-Roberts who is my favorite player in the nation.I am loving this season and seeing the Tigers ranked #1. Elvis would be so proud of this moment.

Jay, I wasn't there. It was too **** cold this mornin for me to get down to the forum.
I saw some of the show. It's weird seein it live in town just a few miles away.
Did they show the blue lights at Graceland from last night? I didn't see that part.
I just caught the final 15 mins of the show.
I'll be leavin around 4 today to go down there. The game's at 8 tonight.
Yall don't miss it.
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO TIGERS!!!!!!

So that wasn't you then? It sure looked like you. But then again it was a quick view of the crowd. No they didn't show the blue light special. They showed a day shot of the mansion and then some fans going through the awards building as they were showing their ad sponsors. They did mention about the lighting at Graceland from last night and mentioned that both Priscilla and Justin will be there.

That game is getting major national publicity. Yes it is a big state rivalry. Both schools and fans hate one another. It's similar to what Texas and Oklahoma or Alabama and Auburn is like in football, only in basketball. Even here in Huntsville there's going to be a watch party at the Sports bar. I'm going to be glued to the tv to see this one but at my home.![]()
