    ballads and faster songs

When it comes to elvis music what do you like the most the faster stuff or the ballads??

I have to say l'am a big fan of the ballads, elvis could sing with so much emotion and it can feel like he is singing to you on certain songs. The faster songs are great of course but l don't seem to play them enough and get to hear them on the radio shows.

yep i love the ballads the 70's stuff was fantastic only elvis could bring tears to my eyes with thoe powerfull or simplistic ballads you could tell they reflected his life and what he was going through but the faster songs are good for a dance but i don't play them that often

Personally, I like the ballads and the '70's .
That's when I woke up and paid attention.

Of course, I like many from the '60's too.
Not many from the movies though.

I must be mellowing out in my old age!..It used to be the fast stuff, now I think I would have to say the slower songs.

I prefer the ballads. too. Especially during the 70s. The passion his voice had while singing those ballads, overwhelmes me every single time I hear him...

Depends on the mood I'm in...

But no matter what, my favorite is AND WILL ALWAYS BE the ballads from the 70's!!! There's just something about those 70's ballads that draws me back to them everytime!!

I've gotten kind of in-between. I really like his bluesy songs now like Down In The Alley and Clean Up Your Own Backyard. But, I also love so many of his ballads and a lot of his fast songs too. I can't pick just one.

It depends on the mood I'm in. I guess I'm split 50/50.

    Same here Buddy!!!

Something bout them that is just captivating..although I too love the faster songs from the 70's but the ballads remain my favorite from the decade.

Like Mike said though, just depends on my mood.

I have been a fan since 1956 and have always favored the ballads. The power ballads and hymns of the 70's being my favorite!!!

I will never forget you Rosanne.

By reading this replies, I remember an article I've read in the Elvis magazine "Flaming Star" a couple years back. The writer of the article wrote "Let's face it, our man was a
true ballad singer, not a rock'n'roller, he was just **** good to do the rockers too".

I've to split them in equal parts, the fast ones and the slow ones, all depending of the
mood I'm in or the situation I'm in...

50s *Rock'n'roll; 60s-70s *Ballads. But, every song on Elvis' voice was turned into a piece of heaven.
Let the stars fade and fall, and I won't care at all, as long as I have you.

Well since he's the King Of Rock & Roll, I prefer his uptempo rockers (ex: Hound Dog, Blue Suede Shoes, Burning Love, Way Down, etc)
