Fire Down Below On The FTD Jungle Room Sessions

Was Elvis playing during this little jam session featured on the FTD Jungle Room Sessions. Was listening to it first time all the way through and never had heard it before, sounds very cool. And also about America The Beautiful at the ending we get a few seconds of it, which leads me to believe their could be possibly more unreleased material from those Graceland Sessions. I would like to believe that !!

Actually EP wasn't in the room when the band recorded the instrumental track. He had retired to his bedroom. He told Jerry Scheff that he wasn't felling too well that night and that he would make it up and record the song at a later date. But he never did.

This song is soo cool!! If Elvis had recored it, i think this song would been a big hit for him!

It is like a new style, more 80`s i feel, just listen to Shaken Steven`s version, image Elvis, and the sweet inspirations backing vocal!

Thanks for that info EP75. From the sound of it, sounds like an awesome song. Too bad he didn't record it.

I don't know how much more unreleased stuff from the Jungle Room sessions they have left Brad...I would love to hear some more myself, but I honestly don't think they have much left!

As for AMERICA, the little clip that is on the JUNGLE ROOM SESSIONS FTD CD is all that is left of the studio version that Elvis was trying to record. He was never satisfied with the takes that he recorded, so he gave up trying to record it and Felton wound up recording over them with BLUE EYES CRYING IN THE RAIN.

That is too bad. Would be nice to have those takes of America The Beautiful had Felton not recorded over them. But as you say, its very doubtful much unreleased material is left from those sessions unfortunatley.

That's true Brad....and no one could belt out AMERICA like Elvis!!

Still though....I would have been interested to hear what a complete "studio" version of it would have sounded like!! After all, the little bit we get to hear at the end of the JRS CD is pretty good!!
