Now that is very interesting to read, thank you! Yet I haven't had the time to
read all the 36 pages...but so far there are many great and positive posts .
Except for the guys who said Elvis was not a good singer or Elvis fans are unintelligent...

Can you believe the woman that said Elvis was not a singer like Frank, wth is she smoking. Elvis did My Way better than Frank.
"When I was a child, ladies and gentlemen, I was a dreamer. I read comic books, and I was a hero in the movie. So every dream that I ever dreamed has come true a hundred times. I learned very early in life that without a song, the day would never end; without a song, a man ain't got a friend; without a song, the road would never bend; without a song. So I keep singing a song." - Elvis Presley

Or the one who said Frank is opera and Elvis is Karaoke and Elvis stole his musical style from others in the mid 50's and made it popular, Frank invented his musical genre and forced everyone else (including his own idol-Bing) to adapt to it.....

I browsed thru the pages of posts and the guy who started the thread, Adam, has many points totally wrong on Elvis. He says Frank outdrew Elvis in Vegas and that Elvis played to half empty showroom when he performed there. I am wondering where he got his info. He also states Elvis did not sing that well and was not very talented?
The surprise I got in reading this thread was that Nancy Sinatra is the Administrator and she defends Elvis in several of her own posts. She also stated that Priscilla and Lisa have actually helped her family with how to market and keep Franks legacy going. Very nice posts by this lady.

Yes KPM you are right with Nancy, I didn't notice that before but I found
her post where she defends Elvis and calls Frank her dad. And in the end she
says she considers herself a fairly intelligent person , that was really nice.
I will struggle through the other pages as well

When you´re already talking about Elvis and Sinatra: Is it true that Elvis and Nancy Sinatra were good friends?

Hi Nicole, have a look at page 3, post 53 what Nancy has to say about
    her friendship with Elvis...

Looks like ol' Nancy pretty much sums it up for all of us, huh?

Daddy, I miss you more every day. You will always be my hero..

Nancy was always a good person. I never did care for her dad's voice though. I wasn't much for the crooners except for Dean Martin. In that time, I would say Frankie Lane was definitely my favorite of the older singers.

Oh, I like Frank Sinatra, okay, but loved Dean Martin more!
Not wanting to get off-topic, but when Elvis first came on the scene, Frank Sinatra stated that Elvis was - basically a no-talent. Don't know the exact quote, but it wasn't at all kind. Next thing, I know is Elvis guest starring on Frank's show. Did Frank ever apologize to Elvis or recant his statements at that time?
I know at the time of Elvis' death he made an eloquent statement about how important Elvis & his music were.

Just pretend, I'm holding you, and whispering things soft and low.
And think of me, how it's gonna be and just pretend I didn't go

^ Because Frank knew that Elvis was/is greater and a bigger superstar than him. You cant mess with the King.

Dean Martin was a really sexy guy with a special twinkle in his eye!
Frankly, (lol play on words ) never could see what ladies saw in Frank.
My dad played Frank Sinatra on our "stereo" all the time. Drove my mom crazy as she didn't like Frank's voice at all.
Like, Diane, I also give Frankie Laine a special nod.
None of them compared to Elvis' voice....them or anyone else along the way.

I will never forget you Rosanne.

I thought I replied to this topic before.

Frank Sinatra was a crooner jazz singer.
Elvis was rock 'n' roll and pop.
Elvis sung the ballads better than Sinatra.
Sinatra songs sounded the samish to me.
    Frank

Every man has a flaming star

Yup, that's what defines a talented singer to me Frank...no samish! American Idol is starting to drive me nuts.....samish...lack of range....no soul.

elvis could of, imo, have sang any sinatra song, but frank could never have got away with singing, r & r or country for that matter.

thats what i was trying to get over in my post in the frank sinatra site

still think frnak was a class act tho, and the coolest of the cool( along with the king of course )
