to Elvis.

Some impersonators I like..some I absolutely have a severe dislike for...like Doug Church and Shawn Klush (especially Shawn Klush because of his seemingly arrogant attitude he seems to put forth).
There are good ETAs out there...but they are few and far between...
(This post is not meant to throw stones at any ETA who we might have on the boards...it's just my general opinion of ETAs).
Although I'm glad there are ETAs, I'd much prefer to hear the real thing because absolutely no one will ever come close to the magic and charisma and appeal that Elvis had and still has even thirty years after his passing.
Good luck on your project and a very hearty welcome to the TCB-World boards! We're glad to have you here and hope you enjoy your stay.
*extends hand for you to shake*
I agree with you Tony, 1000%To me, all the impersonator does is remind me how fabulous the original was. The very few that I have seen(yes, I avoid them) have left me feeling extremely sad. I had rather stay home, put Elvis on the big screen and listen to the surround sound.

Hey, I'll be glad to help in anyway. I don't like being called Impersonator. I rather call it Tribute Artist to me therei s two different kind of Elvii.
Impersonator- Thinks he's elvis and acts like he's better than all the rest.
Tribute Artist- Who is himself on and offstage only difference is he wear replica jumpsuit and hair.
I always sing in my natural voice with band or with backtracks. Any questions you have I'll be glad to help you. This is my full-time job now...at one time I did have part-time job at Krogers, Family Dollar and Winn-Dixie but shows where taking over the part-time job.
Read down couple replies to my MySpace page for video of me.
Love to all,

Elvis impersonators remind me of clowns. In most cases they are impersonating the overweight Elvis out of necessity .

Look people,We all have to admit that some Elvis fans are just nutty.Believe me,ive met a lot! of fans that are too extreme. The reason some of them dont like Tribute artists is because the say"There will only be one Elvis"Ive heard that a thousand times! We all know that guys, just to let you know.Like Tim says,(by the way,you do a decent job Tim)there IS a difference between impersonators and tribute artists.A lot of guys think that just because they put on an outfit and have black hair they are the best thing since sliced bread. Those guys are just fools and they dont realize they are also tone deaf! Other guys from the younger generation of "IMPERSONATORS" are raised and pushed by their parents in to this business making them eat, sleep and breathe Elvis 24/7 and when they get to be adults and are still doing this job they dont even have their own identity! Thats scary.Ive met a couple of guys like that. Then you got your "Tribute Artists" ...This is a whole different deal.Although some guys dont deserve to be called Tribute Artists you always have the ones that deserve that name. They do exactly what the name says...A Tribute.A respectful tribute, they dont over do it,and then they make sure to be themselves on stage and off stage. And thats the key to being a good Tribute artist.Well, you also have to have a good voice, lets not forget that. Some guys go around being Elvis 24/7.And no one is ever the complete package. One might have the illusion and not the voice, the other one might have the voice and not the illusion.Something will always lack. The scariest thing is when some them go as far as having surgery to look like Elvis, lol, wow! And yes ill say it,Elvis was the complete package because he was Elvis. But there is at least a handful of guys and i mean a handful,i can count them in one hand...that do a great tribute and are respectful and are themselves.God bless Elvis!
I agree with the parts I've bolded.
There are some "nutty" fans out here . Just because they "memorize " every tiny detail they've read or seen; they think they're experts in all things Elvis. Not in my opinion.
It just shows the OCD they have with such things instead of experiencing the complete effect of Elvis and his music.
The Tribute Artist that does the music because they feel and understand what he was trying to do ..is the better one, IMO. No one can BE Elvis; but some show the greatest respect and try to give to others that never had the pleasure of seeing him "live" ...or that might just want to relive that time by listening to the music he made.

Don't know if this link will work - it's to Steve Roberti's myspace page. I've seen him perform here in Florida where I live and he's quite good. I have nothing against Elvis Tribute Artists - as long as what they are doing is in memory of our Elvis - and not making a mockery out of him.
Let me know if that link does not work - I also have several others including Trent Carlini on my myspace page. Actually, just click on my myspace page and you'll get to who you want.....good luck!
Well,Steve does a good job.But Trent's reputation with fans and the way he carries himself and behaves(He thinks he IS Elvis) is not so good.
