I was looking through snopes and typed in Elvis' name to see what popped up. I had read this in a couple of books on Elvis - but not to this extent - about Kathy. I didn't know she dated a member of Elvis' band. Does anyone know who?

I had never read where he said those kinds of things about Kathy, but I could have missed it. Why was ELvis giving away a guitar and a ring odd behavior. He did that kind of stuff all the time. I do think that when Elvis was frustrated or bored he took it out on those closest to him. It seemed to be the downside of his "boyish" charm.

Thanks Diane, that is really what I was looking for. I had heard this story about Elvis and his backup singers before - being not so nice to them and they walked off the stage - all except Myrna. So I was just really wanting to know about the Kathy thing. What I did not know - is that Elvis wanted to start a relationship with her again and she said no. I think my respect level just went up a bit for her because of that. But yes I was wondering who she dated in the band. I belong to tcb fan club - so maybe I can ask one of them.

It was John Wilkinson whom she dated - how that occurred I'll never know, since after a concert he apparently always went into his hotel room with a bucket of ice and stayed there, so I'm guessing he didn't socialize very much ...but hopefully he has many great stories about Elvis in the book he wrote, so if anyone has that, please correct me if I'm wrong about the bucket of ice

I think you'll find it was David Briggs not John Wilkinson that Kathy Dated.

Yes Linda is the one who dated and then married David Briggs. However they are no longer together I don't think. Didn't she marry Bruce Jenner and have the 2 boys with him? Brodi and I can't remember the other one's name.
