Faith Hill premiers Elvis' "That's Alright Mama" on website
Monday, January 28, 2008 – Faith Hill will premiere her performance of Elvis Presley's classic "That's Alright Mama," on Wednesday, Jan. 30 at her website. After originally recording both "Mama" and "Peace In The Valley" for "Viva Las Vegas," a 2-hour ABC Network television special honoring the late singer, CMT began airing "Peace In The Valley."
But numerous inquiries were made at Hill's web site requesting "Mama," and now the Grammy Award winning singer will give the video its online premiere, which can only be seen in its entirety as of 11 a.m. eastern on www.faithhill.com .

"We recorded 'Mama' and' and 'Peace In The Valley' last year in a completely empty arena, in the round and stripped down, said Hill. "It was a blast. We channeled Elvis by setting the stage as if we were back in 1968 (his comeback special). These songs and being a part of the special reminded me of who he was, what he stood for; he defined what it was and is to be an entertainer."

The "Viva Las Vegas" special, produced in cooperation with Elvis Presley Enterprises, originally aired on Sept. 18, 2007. The special included Celine Dion, Aerosmith, and Paul McCartney. The complete two-hour special, which includes Faith's covers of "That's All Right Mama" and "Peace in the Valley," is set for a DVD release this spring.

I like Faith Hill very much. I can't imagine a woman singing That's All Right Mama so I will just have to watch this.

Now I think they're both great entertainers .I'll watch for this .

Thanks for the link, Jen. I plan to watch also. I thought Faith Hill would have been a much better choice to sing "If I Can Dream" with Elvis on the American Idol show than Celine Dion.

I loved Faith Hill singing "That's Ok Mama" and she did a good job on Peace in the Valley too... There is nobody on earth that has the powerful voice that Elvis did to sing it....but she does have a very good singing voice. I enjoyed them. Dovey

Faith Hill is a great singer and I love her husband Tim McGraw. Wow they are really great singers and Faith sure did Sing these Elvis songs
