It was great to hear John Wayne talk about Elvis. Thank you Greybeard.

How did you just happen to have that Greybeard? I'd never have thought of recording something like that back then. As a fan of both men , well Wayne only in film, that was interesting.

Hearing Elvis singing "Love me Tender" you know, his voice makes me all emotional, lol (thinking of a previous thread that Missy posted "What Makes You Cry?").

In my opinion, no-one can caress a song, like Elvis can.

Well, to be honest JDD I recorded so much stuff over the years that it boggles even my mind! I got my first VCR (Sony Beta I) back in the earliest of days. I had mine before there was even VHS. The Sony recorded in only 1 speed and just a maximum 1 hour per tape. The initial vcr was super expensive and I was paying abou $17 USD per one hour of tape and my electronic store didn't stock them, I had to order a case of 10 at a time!!!
I am lucky enough to have hours and hours of this type stuff in my collection and have been making DVD transfers of as much as I can.
I remember rolling tape the minute I heard the tragic news on 8/16/77. It was difficult to do but I managed to get much of the US networks broadcasts archived along with much of our local coverage as well.

i have many odd and obscure recordings and will happily share them when needed.

The blank VHS tapes were very expensive back then $19.99 for a 2 hour tape (4 hours on LP mode) I wish I had had one in 77.
