It is just tragic all the way around he had a bright, bright future ahead of him.

Thats what l saw on the insiders tv show last night with the pictures of the baby, sad indeed.

Like we mentioned earlier this afternoon, actor Heath Ledger was found dead this afternoon in NYC. He was found naked on the bedroom floor face down surrounded by pills.

New York Police department says the death was accidental, and not a suicide attempt. Despite several media reports, Mary-Kate Olsen did not own the apartment he was found in.

Ledger was pronounced dead at 3:35PM ET when the police arrived at the SoHo apartment. He had a substance abuse problem, but he had reportedly been clean for the past year

found this on the hollywood gossip site.

    More information
The world won't know what caused actor Heath Ledger's sudden death until the results of an official medical examiner's report are released in the coming days. But that hasn't stopped intense speculation about what kinds of medications the 28-year-old Australian movie star may have been taking when he was found dead in his Manhattan apartment Tuesday afternoon—and whether an overdose killed him. New York City Police Commissioner Ray Kelly held a press conference about the case Wednesday afternoon and said that there weren't any illegal drugs found at Ledger's apartment. But Kelly did confirm that a rolled-up $20 bill had been removed for analysis. (The bill was later found to have no trace of cocaine on it.) Kelly also reported that several prescription drugs were found at the scene and that they included sleeping pills, but he did not release the names of the medications or the quantity. However, a source close to the investigation has revealed to NEWSWEEK that authorities found six drugs with European prescriptions in Ledger's apartment: Zopiclone, Diazepam, Lormetazepam, Temazepam, Alprazolam and Donormyl-doxylamine. One was an antihistamine and the other five were either sleeping aids (similar to Ambien) or anti-anxiety drugs (similar to Valium). All of these medications depress the central nervous system—which can lead to death if taken in the wrong quantities or combinations, explains Edward Langston, M.D., a pharmacist and chair of the American Medical Association's board of trustees. "You just fall asleep and stop breathing if you take too much for you."

    here is what puzzles me:
#1 - his housekeeper and masseuse are used to seeing him naked? Neither thought anything of it? They both were in his room and around him while laying face down on his bed naked.....

#2 - why call someone else before calling 911? That makes no sense to me. If you feel something is terribly wrong - desperately wrong - I'd call 911 first. If it turns out to be false alarm - then so be it - but call 911 for gosh sakes! Same thing happened with Anna Nicole Smith - instead of calling 911 they called other folks first......is it because they don't want the press to find out? Better the press find out - it will blow over eventually and be ALIVE - then dead....

    Don't you guys think?

The naked part I can understand....if they were used to that. But, I'm like you in wondering why 911 wasn't called first ???? It would be the first thing I'd do !!

Thanks for the article..it was pretty much everything I had read earlier. Still...no mention of Michelle Williams leaving him over drug abuse.

Kelly...I just read an article that says he was nude in the bed with the covers pulled up. The EMT's moved his body to the floor when they began CPR and the paddles.

See, so many conflicting reports - I read he was face down on the bed nude.....so mention of covers being pulled up. That I could understand. As for Michelle kicking him out over drug use - I may have watched it on Entertainment Tonight or one of those shows....The Insider - which comes on after TMZ at night.....if I find anything relating to that remark - I'll send it to you.....

I still keep thinking about what a shame this really is. It has really made me think that everyday is worth living, no matter how bad it is, take no one or nothing for granted.

I didn't say anyone on this post claimed Heath commited suicide. All i meant was depression can slowly kill someone inside,(i suffer from it) and he was in love with Michelle (his co-star/wife) And you'll (i have)tried everything to stop the pain inside. icluding over-medicating myself. Heath probably did the same thing. If they didn't find any medicine in his system then that's stange (all the pills strung around) And pneumonia usually doesn't kill a person if they are healthy.

oh..sorry...I see what you mean now. With all those prescription bottles around it does make one think that has to due with the cause of death.....I guess we have no choice but to wait and see.

I just hope for his family's sake it's not that.

His death really shocked me because he seemed not like the other young celebrities that are going wild now-a-days. I hope everything is going well with his family.

I couldn't agree with you more! No one would have been surprised if this had been Britney Spears. Heath Ledger was supposed to be one of those actor's that is in acting because he's an artist enjoying his craft. NOT one of the limelight seekers....Such a sad tradegy, there would have been many more Oscar nods come his way I'm sure. I have BBM...I had to put it on this afternoon, it will really get to you.

so very sad, i loved him since i saw 10 Things I Hate About You - so good looking! he will be missed.
Did they really try to call Olsen first? surely they called 911 first! and i've instructed all my friends that if they see anyone in a medical situation CALL 911! Call 911 FIRST! friends and family can be notified second. that is just irresponsible unless, of course mary-kate olsen is certified in CPR/First Aid!?

News update... Marlon Brandos' Son Christian died after a bout with pneumonia. He was 49. On the SAG Awards they didn't include him in the memorial part of the show but Suzanne Pleschette, Alan Melvin (butcher on Brady Bunch) Brad Renfro, Heath Ledger, were included. That's strange. I believe it's because Christian wasn't a big star like the rest. And the fact he killed his late sisters boyfriend also.

Why would they? He appeared in only two very brief roles in two crap movies in the sixties, and four made-for-TV things.

If memorial tributes included every minor actor and actress that died, they'd be there all day.

Besides, if he wasn't a member of SAG, he wouldn't have been included anyway. Christian Brando wasn't even a blip on the acting radar.

That probably wouldn't be a consideration.

I am in Sydney, which is like New York when compared to Los Angeles.

Perth is the most geographically isolated city on Earth; it is farther away from other capital cities more so than any other city.

Never been there - never will!
