Alpert thank you for your comments, it means a lot when a fellow Elvis fan says that I have achieved everything I started out to do, and I have to agree with you about some peoples drawings of Elvis although are good or even excellent but just lack that one little thing that isnt right, I know when I have drawn him before that there is just something not right.

Thanks so much for sharing the stages in which you create your drawings Gordon. You have a clear understanding of the importance of the various degrees of shading to create a drawing as nearly 3-dimensional as possible. You're doing a fabulous job! Can't wait to see the finished product!

Diane thank you, your waiting is over,
I have completed this drawing now, 3hours on his hair ( dont spend that much on mine), I have put in many layers of hair starting with the lightest pencil which is the 2h, then the hb, then a couple of layers with 8b to darken the hair up, the finished hair is not what I wanted but I didn't want to do anymore to it otherwise it would of gone into a solid black blob sitting on top of his head.

wonderful drawing Gordon..you do have a patience indeed..working all those layers and giving long hours of yours,which I really can't..lazy me..thanks for showing us..

thank you to both of you, patience is something that has been a big no no to me in my drawing and some of the results have shown this. I learned the hard way but since I have learned to be patient the results have been 10 times better.

Pacer thank you, this was a fairly quick drawing as it only took about 28-30 hours normally I like to take at least 40 hours+ on one drawing.

Thank you for the lesson. Unfortunately, it didn't help me out at all. While I'm an okay artist, none of the people I attempt ever look like who they are suppose to be. I have a sketchpad full of Elvis wannabe's

Lisarose sorry I have not replied sooner but I have been of the net for a couple of weeks, never be ashamed of your work you should post them and let us see them, remember some people would love to be able to draw stick men, so be grateful for what you can do and remember practice makes perfect
