not sure how I feel about Scientology.....there are some very nice folks who belong - I like John Travolta. I've visited his house here in Florida.....(he wasn't there an employee gave me and my mom a tour)......

I totally agree with the cult thing. When you do'nt include God or jesus, it has nothing to do with religeon.
Er, millions of Buddhists, Hindus etc would beg to disagree! Your statement is offensive to every religious person whose beliefs do not include JC.
There are many religions - older than Christianity - that do not include Jesus.
And they are just as valid as the Christian religion!

One of the things I try to never argue about. Politics and religion. Both are personal .
The only thing I can say about any of this ; every religion I've ever looked into always has a supreme being at the head . Scientology does not.
I believe in the "power of positive thinking", but IMO, one needs or desires someone or something besides themselves to turn to at times.
I read Dianetics when it was "popular". For me, it held no compulsion or fascination .

Yes I read Dianetics too way back when and found myself bored to death with the whole concept and didn't even get through the whole book.

I dunno about anyone else but I think a student of body language would have an absolute field day with this Tom Cruise footage. The amount of face touching and failure to keep eye contact and the pacing and intonation of his speech immediately made me think "this guy believes none of what he is saying"
