Hawaii - July 1974?

Read with interest the the excellent book "Elvis - The Concert Years" by Stein Erik Skar, that Elvis took a trip to Hawaii at the end of July 74 returning early August...........can anyone verify?

I've never heard of this, but I've seen some pics of him sporting a wicked tan around this time in Vegas for his August engagement, which of course he could have gotten at home in Memphis.

Elvis was never in Hawaii in 1974. In fact, Elvis was loathe to leave Memphis for that entire northern summer.

The book Elvis Day by Day says during the month of July 74 into early August he stayed around Memphis-with "the usual spur of the moment excursions to Palm Springs and Vegas" but nothing about Hawaii.

I'd suggest that on July 15, 1974 that David Stanley probably wandered into the new Jungle Room stoned out of his mind, and only thought he and Elvis were in Hawaii!
