I think that he loved wearing sunglasses! He had many of them. The only problem that he had (at least the one that I'm aware of) was that he had glaucoma in one eye.
This glasses that looked great on Elvis, were sun glasses or prescrived? If no,does anyone knows what kind of glasses did he used and what do they looked like?I have never seing Elvis reading with glasses on--not the pictures I have.I know he did had eye problems.
Thank you,
Giovanna

Goodbye Rosanne...Your "family" in TCB will always remember you.
I think that some were reading glasses. I know that I once saw these really nerdy glasses on a auction book about Elvis. I don't know how true this is but I once read that he wore tinted contacts on his last tour cause the lights really bothered his eyes.
A lot of those sunglasses were prescription. Elvis was nearsighted.

Elvis found the "aviator" sunglasses in a store somewhere and liked them. So he contacted the designer, Dennis Roberts - in California from memory? - and had many sets made, and all were prescription.
Dennis used to often pop up on eBay selling an authentic pair of glasses. He was an optician who supplied glasses to many celebrities.
Dennis passed away in July last year:

Dennis designed most of Elvis' glasses from 1970 to 1977. He was also the one who made the TCB and TLC necklaces.
Here is a link to what used to be (still is?) Dennis' eBay store:

Sorry, Gelto, but you're wrong. Dennis Roberts never made one piece of jewelry for Elvis at any time. He only designed the prescription glasses. He made over four hundred pairs of prescription eyeglasses for Elvis from 1970-1977.
Ableser & Schwartz and Lowell Hayes are the only ones who made the TCB & TLC necklaces.
Yeah, I know.
I meant to write "He was also the one who made some of the TCB and TLC necklaces."I was going off the www.elvis.com.au and didn't rewrite it properly.
I can only take Dennis' word that he was occasionally involved with the necklaces ...
