Junior Smith (Gene's brother) died of an alcohol overdose sometime in 1960 and on September 14, 1968 Bobby Smith (Billy's older brother) died of an overdose after ingesting rat poison. Bobby amd Junior's deaths by overdose are the only overdoses I'm aware of......

Thanks Tony, all I could remember was that they were Smiths. Junior was the one with the weird eyes or was that Gene? Pretty sure that it was Junior though that traveled with Elvis a lot during his early years. I don't remember hearing much about Bobby Billy's brother.

Bobby's death was a suicide by rat poison and had nothing to do with drugs! So that leaves one person. I don't like the way Joe makes it sound! Again he is wrong. And how does he know who died at an early age. Octavia died at age 59, Martha Tacket died at 35 but how does he know what she died of? And then Elizabeth died at age 53. Kind of young but considering the life expectancy wasn't that high then, not so much. My point is that he acts like he knows so much and doesn't.

Good gosh.....what a horrible way to go.

Joe has become an expert at winging his way through interviews. He never seems to say "I really don't have an answer for that question".

I thought Bobby Mann took the famous picture of Elvis in his casket on 8-16-77,so how could he have died in 1976? And yes Junior was the wierd eyed cousin of Elvis who died.I read that one of his cousins died of an overdose,i guess it was Junior.

Not to get way too far off-topic here but it was Billy Mann, Sr. who took the photo of Elvis in his casket on 8-17-77....

I'm going to ask for a source on this one please.

I believe it was Bobby Mann Sr who took the photo, and Jr who died in 1976.

Bobby Mann, Sr. did, in fact, take the photo...on that you are correct. I'm not sure of what happened to Bobby Mann, Jr.

I could be mistaken, but didn't Junior Smith serve in the Korean war in the early fifties and comeback with a form of mental illness? Apparently, he was never the same and became an alcoholic. I believe Elvis mentioned something about him not having to suffer anymore while standing at his coffin at the funeral home.

Correct Junior did serve in the Korean War and he was someone you didn't want to mess with. I'm not too sure about his mental illness but it wouldn't surprise me.
That aint tactics honey....that's just the beast in me.

Esposito just sounds like one of Pricilla's talking puppets. She has several. Sorry if that sounds harsh but that is just my opinion. He is still saying this crapola after 30 years. By now, between him and Pricilla it must be so ingrained in Lisa as the truth, I wonder how it effects her opinions as well. And to me that's an injustice. (to others too) And yet they get ticked about so called lies others have said? Call me crazy but it is just that old double standard that has been the protocol for years with Pricilla. Can you tell it irks me?

In "Elvis Day by Day" I found following two entries:

    Thursday July 4, 1974:
"Back in Memphis, Elvis puts on a ninety-minute karate lecture/demonstration with Ed Parker at the Tennessee Karate Institute, a new school he has established, which will be run by Red West and Elvis' Cousin Bobbi Wren (nee Mann)."

    Friday December 31, 1976:
    Civic Center Arena, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
"After the concert Vernon informs Elvis of his cousin Bobbi Mann's dead at thirty-eight after taking an overdose of pills several days earlier."

    Bobbi was female.
"I have learned never to ridicule any man's opinion, however strange it may seem."

Yes it will bug you but priscilla isn't going anywhere. Joe doesn't need anybody help in telling lies, he good at that himself. Lisa is bright girl and makes her own opinions about things.

Even bright people believe some things they are told. And Lisa isn't always so bright.

I`ve known several families over the years(mine included!) where the truth took on several different guises over the years and peoples opinions of each other changed, the stories changed, and with the passing of years and the fading of memory the real truth can be a difficult thing to find. Looks to me like the Presleys were no different!
