    Hey gang,

    If anyone is going to Elvis Week 2008? You might be interested in this show on August 13, 2008 at New Daisy Theater. Its a fundraiser/charity event for "GrandFamilies of America,"Inc. Its for great cause!

    The Elvis Presley Birthday Pops
    8:00 PM. The Cannon Center for the Performing Arts, 255 North Main Street in downtown Memphis. The Memphis Symphony Orchestra presents a concert of Elvis music performed from the original music charts from Elvis Presley's concert tours. The Terry Mike Jeffrey Band performs as the rhythm section. Lead vocals performed by Terry Mike Jeffrey. Special guest stars are members of Elvis's original TCB Band: James Burton, Glen D. Hardin and Ronnie Tutt. Tickets are available through the Memphis Symphony offices by phone, by mail, online and in person. Leaders of groups of 10 or more may contact the marketing staff at Groups@MemphisSymphony.org to make ticket arrangements. Phone: (901) 537-2525. Tickets are also available through Ticketmaster. Tickets are also available in person at the Cannon Center box office.     Pre-Concert Dinner: Make it a complete evening by reserving your seat for a special pre-concert meal. Adagio Symphony Cuisine is the new culinary experience perfectly paced to enjoy before the Memphis Symphony Orchestra concert.     Concert Fundraiser for Sharon & Jay Parker
    2:00 PM - 4:00 PM. The New Daisy Theatre, 330 Beale Street. A variety of performers (TBA) will be singing and dancing their way into your hearts. Elvis fan club president Sharon Parker and husband Jay lost their home to fire in early December 2007. All proceeds from this event go to the Parkers.     Elvis Insiders Reception & Graceland Tour
    6:00 PM – 9:00 PM. An event exclusively for members of the Elvis Insiders. A private evening tour of Graceland Mansion in all its holiday splendor and a reception across the street in Graceland Plaza. Special guests for this year's event are: longtime friend of Elvis Larry Geller, Elvis movie co-star Cynthia Pepper and members of Elvis's TCB Band: James Burton, Glen D. Hardin and Ronnie Tutt. The reception will not be a seated "theater-style" event, but will be a “progressive” event moving about the plaza area and will include Elvis's airplanes, The Elvis Presley Automobile Museum and the "Elvis Jumpsuits: All Access" exhibit in the Sincerely Elvis Museum. Complimentary hors d'oeuvres and cash bars will be available. Everyone wins a door prize. As has become tradition, just for the dates of the Elvis Birthday Celebration, special Elvis exhibits from the Graceland Archives will be in place inside the residential area of the mansion. The special evening tour of the mansion includes the audiotour presentation, plus Elvis Christmas music playing in the background. Decorations for the 2007/2008 holiday season will be in place. Because of space limitations, Elvis Insiders may purchase only one guest ticket in addition to their own. Admission $44.00 adults, $22.00 children 7-12, children under 7 free.     Elvis Fan Club Presidents' Event
    10:00 AM - 12:00 Noon. Fogelmen Executive Conference Center, University of Memphis, 330 Innovation Drive, Memphis. The annual gathering of the presidents and officers of the independent Elvis fan clubs from around the world with the management of Elvis Presley Enterprises, Inc. (EPE). EPE will present a program of company updates and a Q&A forum. Special guest speaker at the event will be Larry Geller. Fan club presidents' have been sent invitations with detailed information to register for event. This is an invitation-only event.

    “Bears on Tour” Scavenger Hunt at Graceland
    4:00 PM – 6:00 PM. A special evening tour of Graceland Mansion in all its holiday splendor and The Elvis Presley Automobile Museum. As has become tradition, just for the dates of the Elvis Birthday Celebration, special Elvis exhibits from the Graceland Archives will be in place inside the residential area of mansion. The special evening tour of the mansion includes Elvis Christmas music playing in the background. Decorations for the 2007/2008 holiday season will be in place. The evening tour includes our popular “bears on tour” scavenger hunt you may choose to participate in or not.     Club Elvis at Graceland
    8:00 PM – 12:00 Midnight. The Elvis Presley Automobile Museum in Graceland Plaza becomes Club Elvis tonight and you’re invited. Come hang out and enjoy a private party with your fellow Elvis fans. Dee-jay Alex Ward will be spinning Elvis records for your listening and dancing pleasure. Cash bar featuring adult beverages (I.D.’s checked) and soft drinks. Outdoor smoking area designated – no smoking inside. Admission to Club Elvis is a $15.00 cover charge paid in advance or at the door if Club Elvis is not sold out when you arrive. Space is limited. The Chrome Grille restaurant next door will be open for dinner. A wristband ticket allows you to come and go from Club Elvis as much as you like during the evening in order for you to enjoy all the other activities on the property.     D&N's Gospel Tribute to Elvis
    12:01 AM - 12:15 AM. Graceland Gates. D&N's Elvis Presley Fan Club invites you to join their annual tradition. Meet at the gates of Graceland at midnight on Elvis's birthday as they join fans from across the globe singing familiar gospel songs, and of course, Happy Birthday to Elvis.

    Elvis Presley Day Ceremony
    8:45 AM. Front steps of Graceland Mansion (or a tent on the north lawn if there is precipitation). The traditional ceremony with special program hosted by Graceland/EPE officials, featuring a birthday cake cutting and a proclamation of Elvis Presley Day by Memphis and Shelby County officials. Priscilla Presley will participate in this ceremony for the first time. Also scheduled to appear are Memphis Mayor W.W. Hereton and Shelby County Mayor AC Wharton. Free admission. Complimentary birthday cake and coffee served at The Chrome Grille restaurant across the street from the mansion following the ceremony. This year's Elvis birthday cake is a very special creation by the culinary artists of The Peabody hotel in downtown Memphis.

    Elvis Birthday Grizzlies Game
    Elvis Presley Enterprises and the Memphis Grizzlies NBA team are excited to announce the Elvis Birthday Grizzlies game on January 8, 2008 at 7:00 PM against the Los Angeles Lakers. Join us for a fun night of Elvis entertainment and basketball, as we celebrate Elvis Presley’s birthday. The game will include Elvis-themed music, performances and prizes.     Free Walk-Up Times for The Meditation Garden
    Daily throughout the year there is a period of time for free-admission walk-up visits to the Meditation Garden at Graceland, where the grave sites of Elvis and members of his family are located. Then the area becomes part of the regular ticketed Graceland Mansion tours for the rest of the day. The winter hours for free walk-up visits are 7:30 AM - 8:30 AM daily. During the Elvis Birthday events period we always have an additional free walk-up time in the evenings. This year, those times are 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM on January 5, 7 & 8.
