I would say it was both. He didn't have a good diet and at the end frankly wasn't very active, and had a lot of medical issues .
Was Elvis' problem with weight mostly because of the swelling of his stomach or did he just get fat?
"When I was a child, ladies and gentlemen, I was a dreamer. I read comic books, and I was a hero in the movie. So every dream that I ever dreamed has come true a hundred times. I learned very early in life that without a song, the day would never end; without a song, a man ain't got a friend; without a song, the road would never bend; without a song. So I keep singing a song." - Elvis Presley
I would say it was both. He didn't have a good diet and at the end frankly wasn't very active, and had a lot of medical issues .
His colon problems, oversized organs.
And of course his diet and lifestyle.
I heard that too many pills can help someone to gain a lot of weight. Is that true?
Goodbye Rosanne...Your "family" in TCB will always remember you.
One Thing that taking the type of medication/drugs that Elvis took will do is actually create an appetite when you dont feel all that hungry, the end result is that you will actually eat MORE under the influence of the drugs than you normally would, this could explain the sudden increase of weight that Elvis put on, check pictures from new years eve '76 and compare them with pics from february '77 and you will see a huge difference.
It would appear that Elvis dependency on drugs took its toll as early as 1977 and increased again later that year. Rickster.
And yes, also certain medication can effect your weight.
Sonny
a mixture of fatty foods, lack of exercise, drug dependancy and probably some genuine medical problems as well

I find that Elvis' legs were still very slim, and his arms, it was mostly his stomach and face.
The pills did it to his stomach, the food done it to his face. IMO.
