As far as I'm concerned, he ALWAYS did. Something about that nose, those cheeks, the pouty lips, the half moon jaw, the smokey complexion. But I have deliberately omitted the eyes, which still sparkled on occasion, but were permanently altered after cosmetic surgery in 1975. The larger, less sharp Elvis is an "Adonis" in trouble, but still an Adonis.

Maybe Elvis circa 77 is Elvis at his most human, read pure. He was certainly more vulnerable, depressed, melancholy, happy......the full gamut of human emotion, all of which is exposed like no other time in his career.

"Less sharp" is an accurate way to describe him......the weight gain did soften the lines of the chiseled face. I still can't believe he chose to alter those beautiful hooded eyes....
