Recently the Beatles movie Help! had a deluxe release on dvd, so I thought of comparing the deluxe edition of Help! vs the "deluxe edition" (which I prefer to call "special edition") of Viva Las Vegas:

Help - Deluxe Edition:
Disc 1:
- HELP! Theatrical Movie, 96 minutes, digitally restored and newly created 5.1 soundtrack

Disc 2:
- The Beatles in Help! 30 minute documentary about the making of the film with Richard Lester, the cast and crew. Includes exclusive behind the scenes footage of The Beatles on set.
- The Restoration of Help! An in depth look at the restoration process
- Memories of Help! The cast and crew reminisce
- Theatrical Trailers 2 US trailers and 1 Spanish trailer
- 1965 US Radio Spots - Hidden in disc menus
- a reproduction of Richard Lester's original annotated script
- 8 lobby cards
- poster
- 60-page book with rarely seen photographs and production notes from the movie
(- A Missing Scene Featuring Wendy Richard) - no missing scenes as far as I know in either Jailhouse Rock nor Viva Las Vegas, but outtakes and bloopers sure would be nice; thus the small text as it's not fair to include this extra in the comparison

Viva Las Vegas - Deluxe Edition:
Disc 1:
- 85 minutues, Closed-captioned, Color, Dolby, DVD-Video, Original recording remastered, Restored, Subtitled, Widescreen, NTSC (nota bene on Amazon UK it states that the movie is 82 minutes!)
- Commentary by Steve Pond, rock journalist and author of “Elvis in Hollywood”
- New featurette Kingdom: Elvis in Vegas
- Theatrical trailer

So much for the deluxe treatment of Viva Las Vegas (propably Jailhouse Rock too) ...I'm not buying either of the so-called deluxe editions and not even the so-called "The Ultimate Film Collection" from EPE which is not ultimate at all!!!
