When is this bricking and picking on people going to stop?? As Elvis fans we should respect eachtogther no matter how much they know or don't know. Albert went out his way to make this place for us and so far everyday has been aruguments. Come on people we all don't kow elvis and we don't know what the he was about. There lots in here that like to think they know it all and make the others look foolish. We are losing people in this forum cause all disgreements that turn heated. We need to settle down and take a deep breathe. Elvis wouldn't want peopel fighting and bricking over him. Elvis fans should stick togther like a team and not against eachtogther.
I'm with you 100% Jen. A forum is no place to play "I know more than you do" and that's what half of these threads have been most of this year. I miss a lot of the old good posters too. But you know what Jen? None of us can get hurt unless we let ourselves get too over-sensitve. I hadn't realized until now that I finally learned to "detach" from posts that used to cause me hurt. People who pick on you aren't friends so what have you lost?

I know you don't believe me Jen, but I agree with you too - but sometimes you get sucked into it when you are personally attacked. Some just go overboard more than others.
It's okay though - because some threads I don't agree with some - then on other threads I agree with that same person....so it's all good. Maybe today is just a bad day - but it seems lately it's been happening alot. But reread the threads and see where it starts - it's usually the same few.
true diane, maybe l can't handle it cause l went though all my life being picked on by people and l can't stand it see it happen time and time again. I don't know everything about elvis nor do l know inside information, but l try to put my two cents in and nothing wrong with disgreeing its how you say that affects some people. If we all have common respect and look where we all are coming from none of this would happen. Look at kings court, beauiful forum and no argumemts or nothing and peopel disgree with respect. You're a fine example of the Elvis fan. Was I ever shocked to discover all the bickering when I got on the Internet. I'd heard about the division between fans, just never saw it . It was a shock to say the least.
I've talked to a few people, but most I know I get from books I read .
I've read/heard the good and the bad . I usually just make up my own mind.
Sure, there's been things I've discovered I didn't like about Elvis.
I'm very bad about trying to discover the "why" of how people do the things they do. For every action there must have been a reason to cause that action, IMO. I do that with myself too.
I've met some beautiful Elvis fans and I've met some really nasty ones.
We don't always agree but, we can do it respectfully.
I usually pass on the ones that fuss and fight all the time.
Maybe others can express their feelings on this too.
First suggestion : Get rid of all the hateful Smiles .

It's good to have you here Jack. Your sense of humor and common sense is like a breath of fresh air through this forum.
We have a lot of "good guys" on here and they are the majority. We just have to learn to ignore the few rabble rousers until they get bored with us and go hassle another site.

There are disagreements on most Elvis sites.....but you will always find they are the same people on every site that are causing the problems. I would imagine that even these posters are 'multiple' posters.....same people with different log in names.
Our Elvis sites are getting very sophisticated though, and the people running these sites are pretty much on the ball as far as the troublemakers go. The Elvis World is really a very small place when you think about it. The thing is, that I have learnt more by visiting these sites, than I would have by just being a fan so to speak. We have lots of different people who are very knowledgable on various aspects of Elvis' life, whether it be the music, the jumpsuits or the concerts. The people that I don't really trust, are the people who do say they know it all, because they can't possibly. An opinion is also one thing that is just that..an opinion. We can speculate til the cows come home on Elvis' private life, but that is one thing no-one will every truely know everything....Elvis was a complex character, that's why we are all so fascinated.

Thanks for posting this Jen! With Christmas time coming I hope people will ease down a bit on the arguments...Ok I understand we can't all agree about everything but there is a limit between a conversation between fans and bashing. We should not forget we are all Elvis fans
I agree with you jen, we can all express our thoughts and are knowledge about elvis and everything that comes with elvis without being put down if we dont have the right info. in past threads i have put some wrong info in my posts and i have been pulled up about it, i sometimes dont want to post in case i have the wrong info and someone gives you a hard time about it. i dont mind one bit being put right but if the person wants to have a personal attack then i suggest P M that person, dont try to make them look silly on the boards. i dont know everything about elvis and i dont pretend i do so i look forward to hearing new info all the time, and i dont mind a bit of bantar, so long has its stays fun.

A forum is like a small community. There are different kinds of people. Everyone has the right to say what they believe but in a good way, in a polite and civilised way. I still believe that Elvis' fans are the greatest fans in the world...

Ahh, I think there always will be arguments. We can't do anything about it..It's just people expressing their opinions that other people sometimes don't agree with or are sure that they are wrong. There's another thing about forums...the bad thing is that we can't see the people talking and sometimes we can get a wrong idea of "how the thing is said". An argument can come up from a simple misunderstanding.
It's a fact that we will never know the truth about some stuff involved in Elvis's life.
I agree with Kelly, I love discussing about things and I love to hear new things!

It`s great to hear people talking sensibly and showing respect for each others opinions....it makes this site all the more pleasant to visit.It`s a lovely feeling to have someone say something nice about or to you...even if it`s only a simple "Thank you". Nobody on here could possibly know everything about Elvis,but at least here we can ask for help and discuss things.
