Out of the four actors who played "Elvis" during various stages of his career, only two remain with us.

Johnny Harra (Elvis @ 42) is still alive and resides in Texas.

David Scott (Elvis @ 18) committed suicide in 1993.

Paul Boensch III, who was once reported as having passed away, is still alive..no word on what he is doing for a career.

Dana MacKay (played "Elvis" in the "hospital" scene towards the end of the movie) was brutally murdered in the mid-1990s.....

I know David Scott who Played Elvis at 18 Died in 1993. I don't know about the other two.

I guess Tony beat me to it, but thats ok because I had forgotten there were four actors
    and not just 3.

And Ral Donner, who did the often bizarre narration for the flick, died in 1984, at 41.

"If only I coulda seen what I was doin' to mahself ..."

For some reason that's the line that I always think about in conjunction with that movie. I guess because it seems so totally unlike anything that Elvis would have said.

Yeah. It was a great film overall, but the narration spoiled it for me.

The narration stops around the '74 parts or so ... so does that mean the narrator died as well?

    I was half-expecting it to continue ...

"I couldn't believe I died like I did. Mah daddy and Lisa were real upset, and I'm real sorry for the fans'n'all ..."

The narration in the film (still to this day) is the most annoying part of the film for me...

The narration actually goes up to the time of Red and Sonny and Dave writing the now-famous (or infamous) book and the footage from the interview that Sonny and Dave gave on ABCs "Good Morning America" the day after Elvis's death.....it starts out with Ral Donner saying, "In 1977 I started to feel like things were slowly getting outta control"...

I still cringe when I see certain scenes in the movie that (as we all know) aren't historically correct...like the scene where "Elvis" (David Scott) is singing, "Mystery Train"....and the opening scene where they all walk through the front door of Graceland but it shows them coming in through the back of the mansion....

Getlo and Tony......I'm reliving the movie without having to play it I can hear those lines just perfectly in my head. The narration was what kept the movie from being great..IMO. I do still love the beginning and the white guy with the "fro" and his line about "black or white, rich or poor" etc. That's a great soundbite....

Johnny Harra is still live and well. There is video of him performing in 1981 in Memphis while filming it search for Johnny Harra is shame all troubles he got in to he performs maybe once or twice a year but he's been battling weight problems at one time he weighted 450 pounds he's down to about 300 and still loosing from what one of his friends said.

Dana was one of first ETA's/Impersonators perform at Legends in 1991 or 1992 him and his wife or I forgot got murdered really bad with shot gun. It was on America's Most Wanted back in mid 90s when they looking for his killer na they are still looking.

    Love to all,

    Tim Dudley

I'm prepared to wear this one, for timing purposes at least. Walking in the front, then upstairs, would have taken too long for the setup of the scene.

TV shows and movies are done like this all the time: they take scenes from one part of a house or town, then splice them with others to make the scene flow better.

But as for Mystery Train, yes it's historically inaccurate.

    Getlo,

I agree with you completely 'bout the scene...it's just that it's always been the one scene (among others) in the movie that has always bugged me

The scene where they are coming in through the back of the house is meant to signify them returning from the raquetball court.
