I never knew he and Carter had an conversation, and never knew the story behind it.
Very sad indeed..
I'd like to go to Graceland
If someone comes on here and says "Elvis did x" when we know he did "y", then of course they'll be asked for their source! You can't expect to come on a forum, post a "fact" then not have its veracity questioned.
What's frustrating is when someone says "Elvis did x"; they're asked for their source and then complain about being queried, then they slink away without informing the rest of us where the information came from in the first place.
The Elvis and Ali story about them going out publicly together is a perfect example. You said this was true. Most people on here said it wasn't. "Look it up," you said. We did - the information does not exist. Yet you cry foul when we ask you for your source. And we're still waiting.
What bothers me is the possibility of a newish fan coming on here, and seeing something erroneous (for example, "the Enquirer cover picture was proven to be fake" - still waiting on some info on that as well, please), they might then go out and keep speading such stuff.
You can never ask a person for a source when they're offering an opinion, but when we're discussing factual, provable matters I (and I hope many others) will continue to ask for sources and references.

Getlo - cute'n'cuddly
It is because some are so confrontational that they get no replies, IMO.
I might ask that everyone do the same. Show sources before misleading others.
My source was shown . Some just deny it.
There are scanners that help in showing ones info. unless it's just word of mouth.
"I have learned never to ridicule any man's opinion, however strange it may seem."

Oh my mistake. Didn't realise that he/she had been a member for 11 months.
It's not the only 10 or so posts that's already bothering me here, it's the dogged insistance of going after Getlo.....lord we don't need another one!!!!
Somehow I don't think you're too crushed.
Sad if it is is true, but all of us have our "ups" and "downs" and Elvis is no exception to the rule, but it does not take away who really he was.
