"Any other issue concerning Elvis' Catalogue Management"
Does that mean we can beg them to release rare stuff?![]()
This is on EIN...
I hope a lot of people write to BMG!
franny
Write to BMG: Brian Quinn has provided EIN with this message and also the address of the relevant contact in Sony BMG for Elvis matters:
"Should anyone wish to write to Sony BMG regarding:
(1) Updating Elvis' record sales in the U.S.A.
(2) The Garth Brooks Issue
(3) Any other issue concerning Elvis' Catalogue Management
then the man to contact is..."
As it is possible the Sony BMG executive could be inundated with letters from a number of extreme fans or receive letters about a raft of minor issues, EIN has elected not to publish his name and address online. Interested fans should contact EIN for the name and address: nigel@elvisinfonet.com

Somebody needs to ask them why they aint release a remix album yet.
If they wanna reach a new generation, then a remix album would do that more than hound dog will.
Can I suggest thet EVERY reader of this Message Board writes to Sony BMG and request that they update Elvis' U.S.A. Album sales. I believe in figting for a cause and do not wish other artists to jump ahead of Elvis, especially when we all know that Elvis has the sales to be No.1
Thanks.
Brian
They have been asked that question numerous times and had suggestion upon suggestion-they obviously are not interested in it. Ernst Jorgenson has said a couple times it is expensive to do produce remixes, including the promotion involved-compared to the return they get.
True. But that was all before Bob Sillerman came into the picture with his billions invested in EP. He's got the money to pay for production and marketing. And I can see him doing that now that he said new music was coming out over the next 5 years.
Lakeisha there will more than likely be a remix album of some sorts sooner than later. There's too much demand and support for one. Remember my poll I had at all of the main forums earlier this year? The majority ruled by 80% in favor of one. There will most definitely be something big planned for the grand opening of the Cirque Du Soleil debut in Las Vaegas in November 2009. That might be when they release a remix album for promotion to the big Vegas show.
Basically it has been EPE that has held back any remix album. Not BMG and RCA.

don't see how EPE has held back BMG. BMG holds and owns the music and anything before 1973 they don't even have to pay royalties on. (because of the selling of the pre 73 catalogue.)
BMG can do whatever it wants with the music and they just do not seem interested in remixes. ALLC was not even remixed at their request, it was done "outside of BMG" Although they played the remix to the hilt after they saw the money making possibilities. Rubberneckin did not do as well as ALLC-and neither of them got much play on MTV or VH1.
As far as demand by fans-IMO they don't really listen. That has to be obvious by now. The sad truth is it is easier to release the reissues or new collections of old songs with little fanfare. Thats why there have been so many reissues in the last 30 years.
I know what you are saying and I agree to an extent. What a lot of fans aren't realising is that until now there has not been anyone with the power and money that Bob Sillerman has to offer to get things done differently. I think within the next 5 years we will see a change in the way EP's music is marketed and less of the usual low budget releases and more main stream chart releases.![]()

I hope you are right, but unless Sillerman has substancial stock in BMG/Sony I do not see how his power and money will do a thing to change the marketing strategy which BMG/Sony uses. If Elvis had left a ton of unreleased new quality songs I can see where things would be different-but we all know he did not. Its sad but true.
Oh, please give the Sillerman cheer squad stuff a rest, will you?
BS and his Nazi cronies have nothing to do with BMG/Sony. All he could do (even with his "genius") is ask BMG/Sony to look into the sales figures.
Give it a rest. Not every thread has some link to BS and his crew!

I have nothing against Mr. Sillerman-in 10 years we can access if he has been good or bad for Elvis's legacy. With all his money and power there is a lot he has little or no control over. Unless he buys "BMG/Sony" and "Warners" Elvis movie catalogue he will have no control over any of those things.
Thank you KPM and Getlo for your voice of reason. What the two of you are saying seems to make more sense![]()

You're on!
I'll take that bet, and everyone here is a witness to it. Mods, can we store this thread for prosperity somewhere?
So, in 2012 (let's make it 2013, as the bet can start from 2008 if you like) I'll bet that i) I will not want to kiss Sillerman's *** and ii) the majority of fans will be even more disgusted by what he and his cronies have done to Graceland.
See you in five years!
Tick ... tick ... tick ...

"I have learned never to ridicule any man's opinion, however strange it may seem."
Bob Sillerman has already committed his money to furthering the Elvis Legacy well into the year 2021.
