Was it banned because the battery company had not got clearance from EPE to use Elvis's likeness? Laws are laws and it they did not get proper permission from EPE then it should be pulled. Otherwise everyone and their brother would be hawking their product with Elvis somehow attached.

You know now that I think about it, wasn't that commercial run here in the US maybe 5 years back? If thats the case I'm pretty sure it was not banned- it just ran its course.

I have the same sentiment about it, Diane. If I could have picked one to stay, and one to go, this one would have stayed, and the Viagra one would have been axed. At first I thought, "Oh, oh, where we going with this?"....but by the end I was smilingI liked it a lot too. I thought it was cute and certainly it didn't present Elvis in a bad light at all. So this one is gone but the Viagra one continues?

Um...the guy in the Aloha suit was an impersonator...the very quick shot of Elvis in that commercial comes from the rehearsal show for Elvis: Aloha From Hawaii on January 12, 1973.

Just found this on EIN. I'm sure it's beenn posted before, but I couldn't find it. My favorite commercial, besides the battery one is the Nike one. Even though Elvis isn't in it. It is IMO, a great use of song!
